Well I for one know in my comments on it I said it borders on novelty, I may have overstated its tinynessThis 1985 dated western 628 just came in today and I really like it.
I knew the specs but conflicting opinions led me to believe it was a tiny little toy like thing, here are some size reference pictures.
Next to a GEC H20 and a much more diminutive Queen #85.
And a few common folders.
It's definitely a small knife but it's very EDC friendly and in my opinion it is not an overly tiny knife.
No second thoughts here as I like 'em small and would have been happy either way.Sorry if I caused any second thoughts, my own preferences jaded my opinion on what are in reality fine little knives.![]()

Beautiful! I wonder what Bill Scagel would think; he generally had a little different take on things.
Man you don't know what you're missing. This little GEC is my only bird and trout sized fixed blade.

I like it, and I’ve used it a bit around the house, but I’ve never actually carried it, and I can see David’s point. It’s hard for me to find any advantage in carrying this instead of a #71 Bull Nose, and it would certainly be less convenient to carry.

Just started making knives and my second ever is a B&T. Won’t do the liner again...it was a real challenge to blend in and make it look good. Also pins aren’t evenly spaced and I think I need to do my finishing blade sanding before attaching scales because I couldn’t get a good matching finish up by the scales. Advice and feedback is appreciated.![]()
