Bird & Trout knife

The Spyderco Sprig makes an excellent bird and trout knife and I used one extensively for just that purpose with great success. They have been discontinued, but you might be able to find one.

Also, Jarrett Fleming makes a great bird and trout knife if you want something upscale.
Love mine

I have the Randall 8-4 and the Bark River B & T
Neither does as good a job as the GEC B & T
And even that isn't as good on trout as the humble Opinel #9
Just sayin'

Years ago, I was an avid trout fisherman, my knife was a Gerber B&T with the Armorhide handle. These can be found on Ebay, not inexpensive but I still think it would be hard to beat.

While I think that many of my models would be considered by most to be Bird and Trout knives, there are three specifically that I think fill that role:

The Sonoran Belt Knife.

Anything > 4oz is automatically eliminated from consideration.

Here are a couple of candidates for a B&T carry. The Bow River comes with a leather sheath. The hollow ground & lovely aqua paring knife from BF's own Joshua Fisher Joshua Fisher would need a sheath added, though it did come in a sturdy wood box. The parer is 154cm stainless as I recall, but Joshua can clarify if I'm wrong, I'm sure. I took the extra, more straight-on pics of it to better show the actual blade profile shape.
