Thanks for the pic my odiferous friend

I didn't realize the SH 1 was a 6" bladed knife. I thought all the SH blades were 7-7.5" I guess you learn something knew everyday :D

What's that bottom NO? Is that a ZT NO sent in for a double cut and SS micarta???It looks to have that ZT top swedge.

DAMN Mr skunk, those are some beautiful blades. I like them all! :D Also, I found this pic on the web and I wondered if you were experminting with "alternate Lifestyles" in Idaho? ;) :p

yes, the zt's were made buy two groups of people, the cbl group and the sober group.

the cbl group made a bunch that had a few rougher grinds and lighter clips.

the later sober group did a batch that turned out much better! nicer clips and smoother satin type grinds.

the top ztno is from the sober group. perfect in every way.

the bottom ztno was bought by me, before i heard this story from the ohio state troopers. it was very rough and i wasn't so happy with it. i send it in last year (in between wars and after y2k) and had new scales installed and a doublecut finish installed. so now it is a factory "ghost no" with snake micarta.

i like a double cut finish on users so thats how i order my user knives.

it's always best to order them how you like rather than send them in, imho

Hey Idaho,

Maybe it's the lighting... but I don't think so. Do those two SH's have a slightly different shape near the tip?

yes they do, they are so cool!! i like the bbsh's i guess partly because they were hand ground. jerry used a 3" wheel to grind the blade and make that smaller neat looking circle above the choil.
i haven't used one yet but they look like they could very well be the ultimate busse!
some day one of mine will be loved as well as yours:cool:

Yeah, I agree. The "totally handmade" thing is very cool. Every one being unique in some way. As to that other circle, I think that adds to the aesthetics (as well as the individuality) as well. Mine has a couple of stay grind marks right there near that circle... Damned CBL:cool:

Did we ever get confirmation on whether the scales are linen or canvas?

i don't know? jerry will probably comment as soon as they release him on bail.
i hope they make him wear one of those braclets chained to his grinder:cool:

they both have good balance it's just that the sh1 is a little heavier. feels like the sh1 will chop a little better.
i think i like the looks of the sh1 over the ztno but they both feel very good! i'm very happy i was able to get them while i could or find the older sh1. the ztno is no slouch thats for sure! love um both:D :D

Yep yep Yep. .. those are linen micarta handles. Those grinds were a massive pain in the catukas!!!! We did that small radius in order to gain an enormous amount of lateral strength. Lots of CBL went into to those blades!!!!

Thanks for posting your pics. There are literally thousands of those out there and these are just a few of the ones I have seen since 1994.

Nuke on!

This is the type of news I like to hear. There is still hope that I might find one of these bad boys without the other HOG's pushing me away from the trough ;):D:D

Are you kidding!

For crying out loud! I can't even get my hands on someones old beater!:grumpy:

C'mon guys, where the hell are the users?

Maybe, just maybe...gundy had an eventfull morning...Maybe, he just scored a mint SH1 BBSH....but that is purely specualtion of course.... ;)
