Bir Gorkha staff makes what they want and not necessarily what we ordered. So here is the result of the most recent shipment. All knives are about 21.5 inches and 24 oz. All made by Bura. Absolutely stunning chandan wood handles and gorgeous blades. The blades spines are right around one half inch thick. I'm holding #10 on the edge, # 1 is the one laying flat. Beautiful craftsmanship and perfect knives, just not what was ordered.

Bargain priced at $135.

Email your best number and we will ship them tomorrow morning. :D

If I didn't already have several khuks in the 21" and over category, I'd go ahead and take one, letting HI keep the extra $15 from the prepay.

The only bad thing about hosting the MWKK...I'm broke for a period right afterward.

I understand they made them "wrong"...but talk about some mean chopping monsters! On top of the power chopping...look at those fullers!!!

Wow...

Anyone want to buy a well-oiled cat?

The worst thing is that Dave Hanh will probably have one sent to Canada...

;)

ps: Edited to add that I have a birthday coming up!

Those blades are gorgeious. Can you imagine the worksmanship neccesary to make them that broad, that thin, that light, and still have fullers? I wish Bill Martino could see these.

Simply wonderful. And that broadleaf shape. Khuk historians, what say you? Are these blades not closer to the historical khuks regarding thickness?

Also, the advantage of functional fullers was always to trim weight but maintain strength.

I think the Kami's mistake is another man's windfall.

If my knife buying wasn't suspended...... Those are some nice khuks! :D Congrats to the lucky owners.

E- mail sent on #6.
And Munk and Yvsa, you welcomed me to the cantina
before, and I never did say thank you.
Thank you.
(That is probably one of the hardest words I ever say.)

# 4,6,7,9, gone.

Beautiful handles and work on these.

21.5" and only 24 ounces? We're squarely into sword territory with the weight/length ratio. That's about where a Kobra is at, isn't it? And these seem to have far more meat behind the edge.

I don't know how Bura does it. It seems to me that these would be even harder to make than one in spec. :)

If you ask me, a few extra inches of length is less of a disadvantage (if it's a disadvantage in the first place - I'd think it would be a definite advantage around here with the brush and all) than a few extra ounces would be. If I wasn't already signed up for two FF's, I would jump on these. I might anyway. Let's see if any last until tomorrow. :)

$135 for a chandan handled beauty like these...wow.

I just caved in and sent an email for 5 or 10. I figure that one of these at 21.5" and 24oz will be a helluva addition to my collection.

Mad Mike....can you send us your zip code??? Please????

I pray that HI breaks even on these but if the kamis had of made these in the first place there wouldn't have been any need for a 17" Foxy Folly.:grumpy:

Where's Foxjaw????? :D  :D

Uwinv, you still tryin to sell that oily cat? Did it get another immersion in the mineral oil again at the MWKK this year? :footinmou ;)
I wonder if you lined a scabbard with dead oily cat hide if it would be as good as the incredible dead naturally oily sheep hide? :D
