Birkenstock sandals: c'mon fess up!

I have a pair of "Edwin" birk esque sandals. I like how I can wear them really loose without them falling off which is nice when its really hot. What I dislike is they feel disgusting when wet, and look a bit grungy. I dont think I'd buy them again, but they serve their purpose sitting out on the deck, or taking out the trash.
 
For 3/4 of the year, rain or shine, I wear sandals for casual wear. Either a pair of Tevas or a pair of Birkenclones. I don't care for slip-ons or flip-flops, but I find sandals with a good heel strap the most comfortable footwear going, except in freezing temps. :thumbup:

Oh lord no...almost as bad as wearing a fanny pack. The shame!
