Bishwakarma Puja Special

Very nice gesture but no need for that. The M43 will find me as all the other have.
Along with the BAS I've neglected to acquire and probably countless others.

I do agree that everyone needs a Hmong knife. I DO have one of those and it's really a cool thing.
Yangdu has a real one used to pattern the HI version which is sweet as can be. A little smaller and fancier than the real one usually are but breath taking.

Need to fire off a question to Yangdu about the butterfly?

Email sent for

Good one Steve. I was going to go for that one. I ended up going for the 14.5 inch 18 ounce Char Chirra.
That one's a steal, too.
Done Deal on the 19" 22 oz Dui Chirra.

Can't resist this one too:
Email sent for 17 inch 20 ounce Chainpuri with satisal wood handle. Slight loose brass buttcap. $58.

Edit: Done deal on both!
I'm having a happy Bishwakarma Puja day.

Glad to see you getting these great deals Mr Tall. When I started buying about 1 1/2 yrs ago on the forum, I never saw you buying. You were always the “info man”! I thought you owned them all!
Happy to know you as addicted like the rest of us!
I bought so many too quickly that Mrs Yangdu said I reminded her of BigBore. I hate I never knew him

I have a bunch of HI 'workhorses' without a real collection to speak of, but sometimes I can't pass up a great deal on one (or two) having features I appreciate.

EMS for Ram Kumar 18.5 inch 29 ounce Dui Chirra with satisal wood handle. Got the Done Deal.

That AK Bowie by Kumar with the neem wood handle is an Old School design. I have one of that design by Bura:

Most of the new AK bowies look like the one by Bhakta in this same sale.

I sent payment for 15 inch 18 ounce Ang Khola with satisal wood handle. Thanks, looking forward to trying this out!

That's a good choice. I got the almost identical 17oz one in the original post. I'm excited as well to try mine up against the larger and heavier M-43 I have. I feel like an AK that light is somewhat less common, practically a BAS.

Yeah, I saw that you had grabbed that one, and was really happy to see another one like it further down in the thread! This is my first HI, but I have been admiring their website for a while now, and this model AK was first on my list.

Yeah, I figured that would be one of the first to go, and it was right in my price range, so I jumped lol. I'm glad you got basically the same one, though. It's even by the same Khami.

I picked up a 18 inch 31 ounce AK a few days ago and love it. I was seriously considering getting one of those 15 inchers as well so I have a smaller and lighter option, but I'm pretty much set on a BAS of that size and weight at this point. Variety and all that. Anyway, since it ended up being your first HI I'm glad I didn't jump on it.

EMS 16.5 inch 19 ounce Hmong Knife by Lachhu. Satisal wood handle. $125.

Maybe I'll finally get one!

I was trying to figure how that differed from a BAS. I'm still pretty confused as to how they can be nearly identical specs and different models.

Just like a WW2 vs the 18inch/31 ounce AK listed above.

There are others much more knowledgable than I, but there is sometimes huge or sublime differences between different blades.

They include, but not limited to, edge geometry, handle type, cutting technique, recurve angle, weight distribution, belly location/size, etc...
