Well since I think that it's a omen that Mr. Boats and myself got bitten on the same day, with the same amount of stitches, that we needed a picture thread of our stupid mistakes.

I was out in the woods with my son, shooting some pics and trying to put my Izula through some work for a review. Well I was making a notch, like you would for a figure four trap. Stupid me was making a pull cut toward my other hand holding the twig. Well the Izula slipped on a cut and I brought the knife right to the tip of my left thumb. Cut it all the way to the bone about a 1" to 1-1/2" laceration. I guess that's why they call it an Izula, cause she is one nasty little sh*t. Luckily it was a real clean cut, cause of the very sharp blade. The doctor actually commented on it. But I bled like a stuck pig and my son was saying "Daddy your supposed to leave the blood in your body." He's three:D I really didn't feel a thing until about half way to the hospital.

I've learned a valuable lesson. I know I not supposed to make cuts like that I just wasn't thinking. I've been a outdoorsman since my grandpa started taking me out in the woods when I was 8 yrs old. So no excuse just plain stupid.

This is like the pull cut I was doing, but only on a bigger stick. Then the damage after the hospital.

Zow wee, dude, on the end of the thumb. That's a bad place.
 
Maybe we need to put your wound and Boats would up for the folks to vote for the worst cut and the winner gets an Izula. Sort of a sick contest, but cool. Beats getting a tattoo, eh?
 
Whatever has become of our tattoo offer. I haven't kept up with that thread. I know we have one that has part of the art finished.

Suicide's cut looks like it hurts, but I impaled my finger.

Ouch! Reminds me of a time when I did the same thing with my Microtech. It cut clean through the plastic packaging of some electronic thing I bought. I didn't get stitches though because I was in Mexico and just wrapped it really tight and let it close on it's own.

At least it was a clean cut! It will heal fast...
 
That's going to hurt like hell as it's healing. I'm sure you'll bump that into everything possible...

Gawd!!! I use a knife way to many times during the course of the day to read thar these things happen in threes.
 
I did... I took it off my neck for a little while and just stared at it. I think it was mocking me, almost laughing. :D
 
I guess all my RATs are officially put down until a third comes along. My palm puncture is almost healed now. Was pulling the wrap down tight on my Izula, it slipped out of the sheath and tried to resheath itself in my hand. Just applied pressure until it stopped bleeding. Not too bad. Like a scratch compared to the others.
