He said that on this episode after he forgot to bring his canteen along with him on his fishing trip.

The real reason why he doesn't get sick in his show is that he is eating freshly-prepared food, not food that has been sitting in the sun for hours. Eating something strange, but freshly-killed isn't going to make you sick unless it is prepared in a very unsanitary manner. in his shows, he is always being led around by a local guide.

I've never gotten sick or food poisoning traveling through 3rd world countries, and I like to try the weird stuff. The only times I've ever gotten food-poisoning is in the USA and Southern Europe.

You sure have a point there. Many years ago I worked at a Burger King... my first night I showed up for the closing shift and the first thing I noticed was the mayo in the little buffet-like-thingy where you put the burgers together had a SKIN on top of it. You had to peel it back to scoop out the darn mayo. It had been there, under heat lamps, in open air since 6AM. Yuck.

I lasted about a week and took a job sweeping floors.
