Soooo, I had one of these in my shopping cart at Knifeworks for the past couple days. I added a few things during lunch, and just before I submitted the order, the BK12 "poofed" out of the cart...out of stock.

While on the subject, has anyone got one from them recently and, if so, what serial number are they up to? I'm hoping to try to score #762, to match my BH number. I've talked to a couple people at Knifeworks to try and sweet talk them into opening some boxes and checking numbers, but have failed so far. Anybody else trying to track this?
 
From what I know about them, they make them in small batches at a time. Its possible they just "ran out" of one batch and have to make some more. I'm not sure on that though.

And I hope they're not gone for good. Its a blade I want in the future :).
 
I swear they must start over or something. I have one I got neused early this year (January, IIRC) and it's #348. Looked like it had been sitting a while, the bolts had rusted some even tho I don't believe the knife was used. Or maybe they just don't sell very many....they aren't widely known, distributed from only one place and aren't discounted by any major on-line (or off-line, FTM) retailers. Which is too bad, as it's probably* my favorite Becker.
GSO- I thought you already had one of these....I seem to recall a picture of the whole lineup when you got your big box 'o Beckers....


*by this I mean one of my favorite Beckers. There are others.

Mmm, great knife. Kinda hard to get one. Totally worth the effort!

GSO - It'll take a lot of luck or a little bit of bribery to land #762. I hope it works out for you. :thumbup:
 
I was the first in line in the pre-order. KW was going to send me #001. I asked for and got #009 instead.

I got one a few months back.. If I recall it is #392or 396.. Can remember for she but it is a sweet blade.. They seem to seek slowly so they are probably waiting in the next batch to be finished .. Fingers cross and hope you get one
 
Great knife. I think they are in the early 1000's or close to it right now. I think I have seen numbers in the 700's about 6 months ago.

I currently have numbers 186 and 519.

Yes, I'd like to get #762 as a safe queen and turn the one I have into a user.

I agree - one of the best Beckers - #1 - Machax (BK-4), #2 Tac Tool (BK-3), #3 - BK-12.

Haven't stripped mine yet, but it's on the short list. Also have to reprofile. The thickest edge I've ever received, 2nd only to Ratmandu, which to be fair, can spread butter. :rolleyes:

Sorry to hear. I'm the one who probably got it. I ordered 4 of them for Christmas gifts on the morning of the 4th. Well 3 are gifts and one is for me. I'll post a picture on Monday when they get here.

No worries! If you can, please post the serial number of the last one when you get them. I do already have one, and they are great knives, but so far it's a safe queen.
 
I like the higher grind than on the 10 - to the top of the handle nuts, it seems.

I just opened one of the packages and the blade is #529. On Christmas, when the other blades are opened. I will update the numbers.
