BK-12 - Doug Ritter RSK® Mk2 Perseverance

@Ugly Truck Nut: That photo just made me....get the shivers, a little, if yaknowhatimean...

I love my 12 - but if I bought 4 of them, I probably wouldn't give the other three away as gifts. Not that I'm selfish, it's just that that much awesomeness would be wasted on the people in my life; people who would not appreciate what a refined beast of a knife the 12 really is. It would be too hard for me to bear. Sadly, no one that I know would even want a knife that big, especially since it won't fit in the knife block. I am thrilled for your giftees that you have such impeccable taste, though. I hope they appreciate how lucky they are to have such a savvy gift giver in their midst.

they were numbering them for a while... 000-999 for a couple rounds?

i asked for and got 004. yar.

the new ones i've seen didn't have numbers

OK, Here they are.

I just opened one of the packages and the blade is #529. On Christmas, when the other blades are opened. I will update the numbers.

Very nice! Two years ago, I gave quite a few family members the ESEE Becker kitchen knife sets. Last year, the BK5 was the gift of choice. I'm working on gift packs that probably won't be ready this Christmas, but sometime in the future... A small duffel with BK3, Cold Steel shovel, Adventure Medical first aid kit, emergency blanket, Esbit stove, a pouch or two of Wise dehydrated food, and a small pot...just add your jumper cables and a few hand tools, and you've got your automotive needs covered.

Not sure I'll ever be ready to hand out that many BK12s....

Does anyone know how often these knives are produced? I called the website they are sold at, but no one seemed to know how often they have these knives in stock. I'd definitely like to get a few.

I have #370 that I got about 3-4 months ago.
They are definitely a sweet Blade!

I finally worked up the gumption to order one today but now KW is out of stock! I hope most of you are right that they make them in batches because I wouldn't be able to forgive myself if they're dried up for good.

I apologize for the delay responding to this thread. As the result of an inventory error, Roger ran out. "Stuff happens," unfortunately. And, also unfortunate, the lead time is not very quick. At this time the best I can say is that the earliest we expect the RSK Mk2 (BK12) to be back in stock is sometime late in the first quarter of 2015. Sorry.... :(

Doug - good to see you around.
hope the holiday season treats you and yours well.

Doug - As you say, "stuff happens." Easy for me to say, I suppose, since I already have one. But I do want to get a second one, and would really love it if Roger could hook me up with number 762 the next time that comes up. I did pick up a Mini RSK MK1 to scratch the itch though. Love the blade shape and the steel! Think I'm gonna have to pick up the regular size one...

Thank you Mr. Ritter for answering my question. I understand stuff happens and will patiently wait this knife, which is definitely worth waiting for. Thanks again.

or to say it in a more time friendly fashion... in about 3 months? :D

Hope this isn't too much of a resurrection, but we are late in the 1Q. Anyway, I received word back from KW yesterday concerning the stock. They didn't know when they would have more in stock and are not told until they leave Benchmade facility. Hoping to see these come in soon.

Is it really coming from Benchmade?

No, they are coming from Rowen. <sigh> Unfortunately, not everyone at KR is totally up to speed on details. And, no, I don't know when they will be done, but I do know they are in process.

in their defense, Benchmade does make the Ritter Mini-Grip, so it's an honest confusion.
