BK2 and Some Dirt Time ((PIC HEAVY))

I'll trade you dead even for that Randall Model 5-6 you got up. I'll even throw in a Suunto compass, incase that one in the handle is the only one you got. Better hurry, this deal won't last long.:D

Moose

Wow Moose, a very tempting trade indeed.

I bought the 5-6 because it was the closest set up to the Angier version I ever saw. It is a nice knife, feels great in my hand, but is so similar to my 15 it just does not make sense to have both. I love my 15 CDT. I have batoned it and chopped and can shave the fuzz off my ears. It is a little heavier and has a spine that stays wider longer (for batoning). If I sell the 5, I can buy a truckload of Beckers for my site. I think that would be for the greater good.

Moosez45 is there any way you can post pictures of the contents of the kit in your sheath? Do you think a Remora would fit with the tin in the pouch?

Thanks

Jeremy

Alrighty then, I've gotten a few requests via PM, email and now a post asking about my sheath kit. So, sorry for the delay, but here it is:

Details: Going Left to right, clockwise

-BKT/Kabar Gen 2 BK2 Campanion, modified
-ESEE Fire Kit, modified with GoinGear 4"x3/8" firesteel. Capsule contains 3 PJCB, and a button compass for general direction.
-OD 550 Paracord 20ft
-Folding survival saw, from Ron Hood's website
-Survival Blanket
-HD Freezer Ziploc bag
-ESEE blank tin
-2 Curad WP bandaids
-2 2" safety pins
-Photon Micro light LED
-Tops compass
-Stainless P38 Can opener
-Homemade fishing kit, small hooks and lead weights
-ESEE survival card
-Fishing line, 10lb test
-Snare wire, 5'
-Ranger band
-HD Aluminum foil, 3' long, 18" wide

That's my new BK2 kit. I feel pretty comfortable with the stuff in it, and the pouch is full to bustin'. One of my ranger bands broke while taking it off, but I got some intertubes laying around from the kids bikes that will be replacing it.

I feel this is enough gear to give me an edge in a tough spot. With it, I can cover the basics, shelter, fire, water and food. Plus some amenities, like paracord, light, and bandages for small cuts. Big cuts, I gotta start tearing apart the clothing.

Well Moose, I just finished buying an ESEE-5 sheath just like yours. All the 5's I ordered come with the Kydex sheath. Had I known...I would have gotten some with your style and forced myself to add another 5 to my personal stable and share the sheath with my BK-2. I'll of course post photos when it arrives.

Good stuff moose. I plan on going out in the woods and doing some knife work. Always good to learn before doing so.
