BK24 Beatdown Part 1

Yeah, I need to get one. I carry a 14 everyday so I should get one of those.

Mine showed up the other day. You would dig it I think.

I am waiting for my kydex drop sheath for it now since this sheath dulls the blade

okay without doing research, enlighten me how this is different from the 14... somehow this has completely slipped through the cracks in my fingers let alone my mind..

D2 and just slightly different in size.

BK24 blade thickness .155" / blade width (cutting edge to spine) 1.085" / thickness at handle .165"

BK14 blade thickness .153" / blade width (cutting edge to spine) 1.077" / thickness at handle .168"

i'm still rocking the factory edge, because i wanted to see what that could do.

hundreds of boxes cut up

lots of food prep - i let it soak in blood and fat for a week between cleanings to see what would happen - nothing - it might only be D2, but it might as well be pure stainless

it's my goto knife for cutting up meat for the bbq, and generally opening amazon packages

so far, it's my favorite. no coatings to get in the way.

i have those aluminum handles i bought a while back on it. sweet. i should probably bolt up one of the other sets of handles i have on the spares - i have a clear acrylic, and black G2 :>

but for $10, the KaBar handles work a treat and you get TWO PAIR (halloween special, black and orange)

My 24 has held up just as well. I've slammed it through all types of wood (just to see what it could take) and its had a few different chemicals spilled on it (refrigerants, acids and cleaners) with no staining. Currently its sitting in the cup holder of my work truck, never too far from some action.

My 24 has been doing great for the past 9 or so months. If you don't have one you should.

I've been edc-ing mine for a while now and it's good as new. I sharpen mine & finish it on a strop as soon as I got it but nothing since then. Granted I haven't used mine for anything too tough but I can tell you it slices through a seat belt like butter.

I had to cut myself out after getting T- boned & looking back I'm really glad I had it with me.

This is definitely one I'll be passing on to one of my grand kids someday.

Is it being dulled by the sheath? I would have thought that D2 would be more resistant to those sheaths :-)

I picked one up recently, great knife. I have some kabar handles coming for it. I am still debating on a new sheath or not.

I've been looking at one of these for awhile. I think it's time to finally get one.
