BK7 mod by request

getting close. I stripped it. the ferric chloride that I bought must be contaminated. this is the third knife that I tried it on and it wouldn't etch even after cleaning and reapplying every 30 minutes for 4hr.
the becker side is after 4hrs. so I tried using my blade marking machine on the bk7 side. that etch is after 5min. that is gonna be my new etching method.

ok here is the finished mod. the forced patina came out great in person. hard to tell in the pics but it really looks like aged steel instead of forced. hair shaving sharp. balances right on the front handle screw. feels good.

yes I still have it. I only used it the day it was finished. lol file this under strange but true story.. I have not used this knife at all, but I took it out of the safe just last night to try other handles on it.

Nice Mods, if I was brave enough, had the skill, had the tools, and had the will, I'd cut the thumb ramps of 2 of my BK9s and make Jimping maybe... That's why I got the BK4 and even the BK 5 that I decided to keep, no thumb ramps, I'm learning to like the BK5 for what it is, all purpose up to medium duty knifer slicer. BK4 still gets used for simple all purpose carry if I remember it.
