I'm glad you all like it! I've done a couple Beckers in a similar manner, and it's always a fun project. Especially when it's a collaboration.
If anyone would like to try one on their own, feel free to message me. I have a few tips to share.
that is how it's done right there! Straight class! I like how he omitted the middle hole, really cleans up the lines, possibly a lil more comfy on the palm too, yes?
That was my first thought as well, brother thrill. Eliminating the middle hole allows the patterns in the wood to dominate.
I think that's the one and only detail Samael and I didn't discuss at length on this project. I elected to omit the middle bolt for several reasons:
A) It serves no real mechanical purpose. If two bolts don't hold the scales on, there's something seriously wrong.
B) Eliminating it makes for a smoother feel in the palm.
C) It's extra work. By the time you get done inletting two hex-shaped holes for the nuts by hand... a third one doesn't sound like much fun
D) It just looks better without the middle bolt. Lots of cool contours and figure going on there![]()
