Looking good amigo... I like the no ramp look very much too.
Brother, you should just start a side business of customizing Becker stuff.
I wouldn't dream of it. I like modding knives, just about every knife I own gets changes somehow when I get them. I don't like having the same thing as the other guy.
Knife modding and personalizing is one of those little things that I think each person who owns a Becker knife should experience. You don't have to go WAY over board, unless you want to, but do a little something to personalize it.
My mods generally take warranty replacement off the menu, and that's fine with me. I don't send knives back to manufacturers, I just buy new ones. If I was worried about getting a replacement knife when I bought one, I wouldn't be buying from that manufacturer. Its that simple.
Now stripping a knife and changing the handles shouldn't void the warranty, but taking a grinder to it, and modifing the blade structure should void the warranty. If you anyone of you decide to grind or alter the blade dramatically, expect the warranty to be voided. I can't speak for Kabar, but I know how I feel, and thats the way I feel about it.
There are so many ways to personalize a blade, especially Beckers, you can have a blast and end up with a very unique Becker blade. Go for it.
All that said, the Grand Poobah, and Ultimate Beckerhead, Mr. Ethan Becker, uses his Becker knives straight out of the box, factory finish, edge, handles and sheaths. Use like you got'em. There is a boatload of wisdom in that little sentence. Think about it.
