BK9 vs Hatchet vs Saw - With Pics

I'd like to see a comparison on that too, but the Tram Bolo has a 1.25mm thick blade, where the BK9 is 4.76mm if I converted it right. I imagine the Becker is much more sturdy when doing certain tasks. But the Tram was only around $13 by itself, and I got a deal at the time buying their box of 5. I've only been using that bolo, it is a beast and it doesn't completely scare homeowners when I'm clearing brush around their house for repainting. I would like to see some facial expressions if I were wielding the 9 hacking on their palm trees in a gated golfing community. (No offense to gated community golfers on here)

Very cool post.

Thanks for the info. I still need to buy a Bahco.

Ya, they are inexpensive, efficient, light weight, feather weight actually. Kind of the Mora of folding saws. :) Interesting thread.

Thanks for the review, it was very interesting. I'd be even more interested in seeing how a Gransfors Bruks Small Forest Axe or even the Wildlife Hatchet performed compared to the rest. I'm sure they'd beat the camp hatchet you used. One thing is for sure though, it's certainly more fun wielding a large knife like the BK-9 in the woods!

Btw Buckeye, did you end up meeting up with Ethan? Great to have the chance to meet the maker of one of your favourite knives!

Good stuff, for sure. I love the Bahco, but I haven't tried a 9. At some point in recent history I heard that you can't not have a 9.
