Went on a rainy hike to the top of the Black Mountain range in Western North Carolina with my brother today. It was gorgeous. We started in heavy rain and it lifted as we got to the top of the ridges.

Awesome photos Brian. I see the family resemblance! Keep 'em coming if you have more!

Those pics remind me of home.... wait, that IS home. I'm about 10 miles from the town of Black Mountain. Fantastic area! Hope you enjoyed your stay.

cool that you got out with your brother, and that noone ended up in a cold stream somewhere...;)

looks like a nice area despite the wet weather...i bet you didn't run into anyone else either.

Excellent views Brian, Glad to see that your getting some time out and away from the new business.

Love that area. I used to go through there and dream about the hiking possibilities. Thanks for the pics.

Thanks, guys. It was a blast. I love this area - it's beautiful. I could see me settling around here.

It's near Asheville, yes. I took my Gossman PSK, Jr. (always with me), and my Bark River Aurora.

Rain never stopped me from getting out and enjoying the outdoors!

I may be wrong but I beleive that range is where alot of mil E&E and wilderness survival is taught for the SE region. The scenes for Daniel Day Lewis's Last of the Mohicans were shot in western NC. Beautiful mountains for surre.

Nice hike, Brian. Kinda reaffirms my reason for moving to this area. Being surrounded by national and state forests sure has its benefits.:cool:

Damn those looked cool. I've not spent any time around Ashville, but I've done a good bit in Tenessee. The smokeys are gorgeous.
