Hello Gents,

It's been almost a trouble free set of exchanges on BF since I started. A few missteps but BF's seem to pull through time and time again :)

However, a recent experience with blackscout has let a bad taste in my mouth.

Basically, he contacts me about a item for sale:

http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=652785

Says he has cash in hand and wants to take it. Great, nothing I like better than a quick and simple transaction.

However, after agreeing on terms I've gotten nothing but excuses from Chris.

Lousy communication and a complete waste of my time.

Serves me right for dealing with a BF'er with no real feedback.

Just wanted this out there so others don't waste their time with Chris AKA blackscout

lousy communication?? not one day with out an email! very impatient and not very understanding. I am certainly glad this is not the norm here. Unbelievable to me that Garry has the nerve to come on the gb&u and say something negative about me. what a :jerkit:

A little investigation shows that you may not follow thru on a deal after saying " I'll take it" and agreeing on terms. Page's post here confirms it. If you're not absolutely sure you want an item, then don't send an email.
If you're wasting peoples time/effort like this, then you are probably the :jerkit:

Gents, nothing's in public view here, and nobody has shared emails. Frankly I'm relieved. I don't want to read all of your personal comms.

That said, if you commit to buy it, have the cash in hand or in your paypal acct, then buy it immediately. Don't screw around with it. I'm done holding knives, guns, anything for someone who I do not know personally and whom I know is good for the cash.

If you and I agree on terms for something I'm selling, I don't need to be patient or understanding. I may be so, but I'm not so required. Have the cash handy so you can pay quick, like now. Anything longer than 24 hours is you not being ready to go, and that's unacceptable as you're holding up other potential buyers in a 24-hour international marketplace.

Once again, nothing says "I'll Take It" like a note from paypal saying "You've Got Money."

If you actually commited to it then you should follow through for sure.

I nearly bought that watch too but I actually managed to get my old one back from the guy I sold it to so didnt pull the triggger on that one.
Kind of wish I did now as it would have clearly saved a bit of hassle :p

Health issues.
Priorities.
Lame messages.
Stars not aligned.

Which excuse is it blackscout?

5 days with no payment. speaks for itself.

ps-checking out blackscouts visiter messages suggest he has lead others on too.........

Chris. I have sent you an email but have not heard back from you on the watch. I guess I should take it from your silence that you are no longer interested? Please confirm?

Blackscout,
Just checking in to see if you got my email about that Icebreaker shirt. Wanted to make sure you knew it was not a sweater, just a baselayer wool shirt. It's still yours if you want it, but if not, let me know as I have another buyer waiting to hear back from me. Thanks." end quote.

why I lost consciousness and went into convolutions.
Convulsions are what you went thru during your health issue, Convolutions are what you made this deal into. http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/convolution

Since you were still working after you health scare, it seems reasonable that you were able to make more of a timely effort to take care of your other pending business matters.

my conclusion is that your time is more important than other peoples. i have 3 kids and a busy life also, but that doesn't stop me with payments. i work construction too (21 years as a union carpenter, teach rough framing at Honolulu Community College for past 6 years). were you finishing the concrete yourself (mason)? only the masons and laborers would need to be on site the whole pour. the pour lasted the day, but you couldn't drop off the payment to the post office after work, during lunch, etc... .

man up dude. all though the item was up for sale over a month, doesn't mean you should jerk the seller around. the visiter messages i posted show a recent history of sellers having difficulties with you as a potential buyer.

you also have a history of posting i'll take it and not buying. it can be seen here:

http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=545148

people here will form their judgements by your postings and correspondance with the seller. from what i see the only problem you had was with you sending the payment.

ps- you also tried to lowball the seller. bad form. more lowballing history:

Chris, I understand the situation you were in, but if you weren't able to follow through on your end of the deal right away I think you should have told Garry that you still wanted the watch, but since you were unable to pay right away that you would fully understand if he wanted to re-list it.

It's a shame to see this situation get so out of hand. I don't think that anything that happened was all that bad. Sometimes life does get in the way and five days isn't all that big a delay. Oh well, it's done now.

Parker, we both frequent another forum. I spend much more time there and my rep shows it.

-----------------------------------------------------------------
At which point I decided not to send the money.

Blackscout, nothing says I'll Take It like a message from paypal saying "You've Got Cash."

I don't care what other forums you frequent. That's not an issue here.

The issue at hand is your pisspoor excuses for how you conducted business here. That you had a health concern was an issue, but you admit to having a bunch of other personal bullshit which kept you from holding up your end here.

Your reputation is only as good as your last transaction. Considering a LOT of DevLZ frequent multiple sites, maybe you'd do well to consider this concept.

Regardless of what issues you have, as noted above, you were able to continue working. That is important, no doubt. As are your other obligations, including your obligation to hold up your end of this agreement.

You failed in that agreement and you're angry with him about this? Pretty small, Blackscout.
