Thanks for taking the time to share all this stuff, Murray... I know it takes a heckova lot of work!

Thank-you for taking the time to shoot some pics for those of us that could not attend :).

Appreciated

Blade and its people are truly international and we all have one language in common --knife talk-- I certainly did a lot of talking over the weekend, lots of photos and some sleep. Going to add the rest of Friday's images now and will then work on Saturday and Sunday images. Glad everyone is enjoying being able to see what goes on at Blade and I certainly missed the seminars etc. The fact that 2 hours have been removed from Sunday did not help me at all. Anyway lets continue with the show

Bertie Rietveld of South Africa -- no intro needed for his fine knives

orig.jpg

Talked to Bill Burke but never did find his table but he found others it seems. Missed seeing his knives for sure

orig.jpg

There are always makers that may have been around for some time that I don't know and Bill Buckner is one but he has some nice knives at his table

orig.jpg

Big and stag and bowies

orig.jpg

Dapper as always is Billy Mace Imel and his wife

orig.jpg

Now speaking of dapper, check out Edmund Davidson with Dennis Friedly

orig.jpg

Dennis had quite a variety of knives available

A dagger, subhilt fighter and a bowie -- collectors dream

orig.jpg

Many of Dennis' knives are scrimmed and this is particularily nice

orig.jpg

Not sure who the maker is but he was selling this box for a friend and I wish I had room
to both take it home and a place to put it.

orig.jpg

Great to see Ed Fowler getting around with his new hip
orig.jpg

Certainly Ed Caffrey provides lots of choices when a collector visits his table

orig.jpg

a nice damascus hunter with an elegant sheath

orig.jpg

a very cool looking recurve bowie with interesting features such as the guard, carved handle and pommel

orig.jpg

A bit of a bum view at Gail and Larry Lunn's table

orig.jpg

but the knives are great

orig.jpg

orig.jpg

Gil Hibben examines this snake on a walking cane

orig.jpg

orig.jpg

this Bowie is a good example

orig.jpg

orig.jpg

some are even decorated like this dagger

orig.jpg

Johnny Stout renowned for his folders

orig.jpg

has added some fixed blades to the mix which others seem to have done also this year

orig.jpg

three Bowies by JW Randall

orig.jpg

orig.jpg

As noted in another thread --yes I did take some time to read other Blade reviews -- John White did well with projects he worked on for a couple of collectors

orig.jpg

Best Bowie

orig.jpg

Best Damascus for the dagger and there are a couple of others shown

orig.jpg

how is this for alliteration -- Kevin Cashen Kitchen knife

orig.jpg

and a Bowie as nice as it gets

orig.jpg

Never without a grin, Koji Hara also has great folders

orig.jpg

a few examples

orig.jpg

different blade styles

orig.jpg

and a top drawer piece

orig.jpg

This is what a knife show is all about -- looking at knives and introducing the next generation to the field of custom knives

orig.jpg

some knives by Mike Williams

orig.jpg

orig.jpg

Murray Sterling had lots of folders available

orig.jpg

the name of this man escapes me but I think his last is Barnes

orig.jpg

Ralph Dewey Harris, on the right, has been creating folders of the highest quality for
collectors as long as I can recall

orig.jpg

the boxed presentation is a nice touch

orig.jpg

orig.jpg

Roger Massey provides some variety for the collector

orig.jpg

Ron Newton continues to outdo himself each year -- here comes the Shootin' Newton

orig.jpg

With that to remember, we will close for tonight and continue later on. Need short nap again.

Great stuff Murray! So much that I missed I get to have a peek at now.

Roger

Sure hope folks are returning as there are lots of photos to be posted and some that have not even been edited yet.

Steve Rapp has more creativity than many and this large piece is inspiring for sure.

orig.jpg

With that Virgil England large battle axe, Steve Swartzer can give anyone the evil eye

orig.jpg

Alain DesAulniers was part of nice Canadian contingent showing at Blade as usual with a
nice variety of pieces available

orig.jpg

some Loveless style fixed blades

orig.jpg

orig.jpg

more International flavor with Anders Hogstrom and this big one

orig.jpg

and what would the south be without Bubba and his knives

orig.jpg

orig.jpg

Thad Buchanan and his son --the one with knives available

orig.jpg

seems there are more chips falling around the knife world all the time

I don't very often show suppliers but this one is a collector too -- of a maker from whom I have three pieces. Charles Turnage also does some nice pens.

orig.jpg

some examples are here

orig.jpg

and here is the result of knives done with some of Charles mammoth teeth etc by Frank Niro of BC.

orig.jpg

Corrie Schoeman talks with customers

orig.jpg

some of Corrie's knives

orig.jpg

As usual the work of Curt Erickson and Julie Warenski Erickson is quite breathtaking --

orig.jpg

unfortunately the image of the big dagger was just not usable but these others will have to do

Murray,

Thanks for the recap. Blade is the high point of the year for lots of us.

I'm always stoked seeing old friends and talking about our interests.

Thanks again,

John
