BLADE - Antlanta '07 Who's going?

One and a half hours away?????
We'll be driving 1000 miles before we hit the Atlanta traffic.

Everythings booked..........Now for the mad dash.
See y'all there.:D
Mace

Is there a reason for driving rather than flying?

I'm all over it, although I won't be showing this year and won't be buying like i did in 2005, the last time I went. I guess that leaves drnking in the Pit for my primary Blade Show activity:D Hopefully, I will be able to score one of those JS tester half-tables in '08. Keeping my fingers crossed:thumbup:

I'll be there but ya'll prolly won't recognize me :)

Let me be the first to congratulate you on your JS Nick. I have no doubts you have it in the bag.

I think Nick was first congratulated two years ago :p ;)

Sorry Nick :o I had to say it. Congratulation on your JS and I hope to see ya there.

Edit to add: Nick had it in the bag two years ago but could make it to Blade. Just to be clear.

I'll be there. Last year was the first year I went. It was awesome. I live less than an hour from the Cobb Galleria where it's hosted. I'll see ya'll there!
-John

I'll be there, at least on Saturday. No way I'd miss it just living up the road in SE TN. I'm new to this game but am definetely looking for materials, handle scales, steel, and anything else my budget will allow.

Is there someone there that sells blade steel, specifically flat ground for stock removal?

Looking forward to meeting lots of people.

Charles

I'll be there ready to test for JS. I have the flight booked, room and tester table reserved. I hope meet some of you fellas while I'm there.
Pete

There's probably a couple reasons for driving and one could be the a half ton of steel and the other is most likely Aldo is coming. I'm not sure if Aldo is allowed in airports......... :D :D

The reason I ask is that I'm trying to think of how I can get out there. I really don't like doing 10 hours in the 'aluminum death tube', but it's just about 2,000 miles for me, and that's a bit much to drive--as much as I like long drives.
Actually, I wouldn't mind driving out there one way since I've never driven east of Albuquerque from LA. I just know after the show, it's gonna seem like a real drag to do it again.
Maybe I'll rent a big, cushy car, drive it one way and fly back...:D

Nick,

I hope to be there this year. I am in Iraq right now...long drive. I will be coming from VA though...thats a whole lot better. I would like to meet alot of you guys. Nick good luck on the JS.

Why drive?????
How about what happend to Ken Onion last year?

My reasons for driving are many........
I love to drive and see as much as I can on the way.
The first year I drove down to Atlanta we stoped about 1:30am in North Carolina to get a room for the night. My buddy went in the motel to see about a room....I got out of the car to take a stretch and just up the road a way was a guy that got pulled over and there was 3 police cars on scene.
The guy was on his LAWNMOWER!!!!:D
Now thats just not something your gonna see stuffed into those things they call seats on an airplane.

The road trip, for me....is almost as much fun as Blade show itself.
Plus you get to eat at Waffle House any time you want.(the real reason)!:D
Mace

Hey Kerry, You need to make a hat!:D

Ain't Waffle House great? The graveyard shift hired help makes me feel like I belong on the cover of GQ
:D

Not that anyone would give a root-te-toot-toot, but I will be there Friday and Saturday. I will only be a "lurker", as I don't have any money to spend, and my knives aren't good enough to display on a table.

Good thing is.......... there are some geat folks that will be attending........ That's what makes it worthwhile.

Robert

Well, I wish it was only 1,000 miles for me. My trip would be about twice as long. :( ----I'm trying to get my head around it so I can justify it. I'll talk to my brother-in-law truck driver and see what he thinks about 4,000 in about five days of driving.

Robert, sure your knives are good enough to be on a table.
Even if you don't have a table, there is always the Pit.
There are some deals to be made there, and people with money to burn.
See you there.

Hey you guys are nuts! ;)

I was going to say I'd buy the first round but it looks like Darren beat me to it. PLUS, by the time I got through this thread (so far) I think we're getting up to an awfully fat first round! :D

I'll be taking my Dad, and we'll be staying at the Renaissance... I am SOOOOOOO flipping excited! :D

Lots of guys I am looking forward to meeting!!! I think I'll just have a tester's table, and I don't have a number yet.

See you guys and gals there!
