Have you reached a point in your collection where you have everything you like and nothing else interest you ?

I'll always have interests, even though I have what I need/want. I do have a couple of knives that will be worn out within a year or two that may get replaced.

Nope. I had one time where i was like oh i dont need another knife ive got so many than i walked by a knife counter and went oooo shiny and bought two right then. Yep its not possible!

Yes! I have reached that point at least a dozen times. :D I will probably reach it a dozen more.

Probably won't happen until Spyderco goes out of business, and all these guys on the forum stop putting pictures of the awesome knives they have created in there shops (for sale).

Ive come to a point where Ive got what I want to carry, and find it hard to find something different from what I already have, but Ill always want more. Its a sickness :D

I think I have got to that point. It looks like there are not enough new designs and products out there to keep my interest up! In the past in similar situations I would probably keep buying more knives as I saw good deals here and there, but I kind of do not see any now! I sort of moved my focus from folders to fixed blade: folders really got stale lately! But even then, not much to fire up my interest, not really! I am kind of looking back again at some knives that were on my wish list years ago, but even then not high enough for me to pull the trigger...

I've lived in a nice suburban neighborhood for a little over a year now and actually don't use a knife all that much anymore. IMO, a Spyderco dragonfly is all I need right now and is a perfect knife for me. I have sold many of my other knives over the past year that weren't just about perfect for me. I still have several other knives, but they are the ones I like the most. I am still interested in other knives,( I have a kershaw/emerson 2K on preorder still) but from now on I will be a lot more strict on what I buy.

I'm very close. I have slowed down significantly. I have reached a saturation point. I have more than I need, and darn near all I want. I have bought, sold, traded up to and down to about everything that interests me. Kinda sucks actually.

Not at all. I probably have everything I "need", but definitely not everything I like.

Hell no! I don't have enough money!

That's the limiting factor all right. Last night, I just stumbled across the most ridiculous $$$ knife collection on a different forum (jerseysatan or something). It was an old thread from '09 where a guy posted his whole collection in order of size and various commonly sought after comparison combinations. The knife pron just wouldn't stop!!! (just google 'knife relative sizes')

The "saturation point" remark definitely applies for me, and I have far fewer knives - and fewer uses for knives - than a good number of people. However, unless I see a deal that's just too amazing to pass up, I really have to be inspired by a knife to buy it. It could be a cheap knife with an interesting design or some variation of a favorite that I just have to have, but if it really appeals to me then I'll still buy it. It has to really grab my attention, though. As far as knives as tools, I have all I need and more.

I can't say I've reached a point of boredom, in fact just the opposite. There are enough knives that I want and little enough money in my wallet that I've hit a sort of blade depression. Every time I think I have all the knives I want I see something new, or a new company appears. For example, today I'll be sending the Reate Horizon A pass around knife on and knowing that I can't afford to buy one any time soon, that just adds to my depression. Hopefully I'll get my mitts on a Lionsteel SR2 here shortly so that will help a little.

Nope. Just last Friday I ordered a couple of the Kershaw Emersons, a Cold Steel Eland and Counter Point XL, and the CRKT Woods Chogan tomahawk.

And those aren't even all the 2014 releases I want(Condor's 2014 lineup isn't out yet, and I want pretty much ALL of those, plus I only ordered 2 Kershaw Emersons, I want like, 6 of the 8, Cold Steel's new machetes aren't released yet, the Kershaw Strobe I'm still anticipating...), much less all I want period...

Knife boredom? Never!

There are so many knives that I want, and can never seemingly afford, that I will never reach that point in this lifetime. I guess if I was Bill Gates I could get bored with my knife collection. But, with my meager budget, l just don't see it happening..

I can't afford most custom slipjoints, antique slipjoints including old Remingtons, custom frame locks, custom and antique bowies, but I can read about them. I just bought a Strider SNG CC SW, and a GEC Viper, those should keep me busy for a while. Got on the list for the 2014 BFC Traditional forum knife, and I'm hoping that my ZT 562 comes in by two weeks from this Saturday, so I can pick it up at the knife shop in western MD. I think I've gotten jaded, not bored.
