Looking forward to hearing more from you, (and that old hound dog Mike

), when you get the chores done, Elliott!
Well, the chores ain't done but here's a few tidbits that come to (my muddled) mind. (I reserve the right to add or edit since I'm sure I'll leave out many moments and folks that deserve to be mentioned.)
A couple of highlights were meeting forum denizens Rick Menefee, Todd Davison (and his much better half) and "Big Al". Rick and Todd had some nice knives for sale and show & tell. Fun guys to visit with as well.
A particular treat for me personally was putting a face to the unofficial mayor of "Knifeville" our own mckgreg. A great guy to spend time with.
My wife and I had the pleasure of spending a couple of evenings at dinner with Jerry Halfrich and Mike Zscherny and their lovely wives (in addition to dinners with that scoundrel Robuck and my blood brothrer Bastid.

)
Oh yeah, knives...Somewhere between the boozing, cigars and general tomfoolery there was time for that.
Well, the first knife I got at the show was a complete surprise. A Ray Laconico "Bowie" handled in ironwood that was given to me by our own "C-Nasty", Campbell as a gift. It was a very generous gesture and one I'm not likely to ever forget. The knife itself is a beauty and will definitely be a joy to own and hopefully use.
A couple of other gift knives for myself and my wife came from long time friends Jeff Randall and Mike Perrin of RAT Cutlery. Jeff and Mike gifted us a pair of Izula neck knives (though I'm a bit upset that I didn't get the pink one.

)
The knives I was fortunate enough to purchase at the show were:
A stunning rendition of the Bose "Millennium Trapper" in old Case bone by Mike Zscherny. Mike changed the blade configuration some and the result is a true winner imho. (Pix will follow as time permits this week.)
My next acquisition, purchased while in a weakened state brought on by a seemingly endless supply of bourbon in Tony Bose's room was a stag handled 4" wharncliffe trapper also built by Mike Zscherny. (This knife was offered to me a few months ago by Lee Grogan and he finally hooked me at the show. :thumbup
Next up is a really nice modified wharncliffe trapper (4") in old German bone by John Howser. The knife is a gem and was a great buy in my opinion. John's doing some really nice work and it was a shame that health issues kept him from the show. The gents manning his table were kind enough to put me on the phone with him so I could compliment him on the workmanship. This knife will be carried and used. (A lot.)
And finally, LarryM brought a couple of knives by Bret Dowell to the show and I couldn't resist purchasing a nice little spear blade clothed in Westinghouse ivory micarta with a very nice fluted bolster (3 3/8"). Brett (like his buddy Rick Menefee) is doing some very nice, clean work that is being offered at a very attractive price. I couldn't resist putting the knife into my pocket. Bret, hope you make it next year.
I put in a couple of orders with Eugene Shadley for "down the road" and confirmed some others with Bill Ruple, Rusty Preston, Joel Chamblin, Don Morrow, Al Pendray and others. Hopefully they won't all be done the same week (or year).
Well, that's what comes to mind at the moment though I'm sure more will surface in a bit after I get some more tasks taken care of.
Hope everyone had a great time at the show and makes it home safe and sound with great memories to keep 'em company until next time.
