Blade coatings?

Look at Armaloy. They have a couple diff options. I think it is the XADC coating that is hard chrome with spherical diamonds in it. 98 Rc!

I'm set up to do black parkerizing. I put it on my throwers. It does come off... so will anything else. I have some cold steel throwing knives that have an epoxy coating... it is SLIGHTLY more durable than the parkerized finish.

Would anjyone care to comment about temperatures required for these coatings? Are there some that may compromise temper?

Rob!

Some require no heat.....just time (2-4 weeks) or it can be sped up w/ light heat 150 deg. + -

Others bake at 300-350 deg......usually ok with most tempers.

Google the ones that interest you and you'll find all the details for each.

Tempering is usually done at 400 degrees + . Most bake on coating are max 350 degrees.

Black-T is baked at 325 degrees. This is Mr. Birdsong's coating that was mentioned earlier. I too use it. He has four colors now, Black, Green, Tan, and Brown.
