Blade from very hard steel?

Most Chinese makers start with prehardened bar stock and use carbide bits and sharp belts. No need to send it to a heat treater that way. It’s a very fast way to get a knife done.

I can see many advantage making knife that way . Especially with stainless steels......Why no one here sell hardened steel I will never understand.... I even opened thread about that ...

Spot anneal won't work on the VG-10 core. It will air harden upon cooling. The blade will need a sub-critical or process anneal over several hours.

As I said in the last thread I do offer pre hardened 15n20. But would be open to offering other steels as well if there was an interest.

Cheers bud i may give that a go in the future, I have just got a load of carbon steel in so am going to have a crack at that soon. Will probably be a while before i get through all that
