Blade HQ not shipping to NY

I'm sure they mean NYC, not all of New York. I live about 90 minutes outside the city and have ordered from them several times in the past couple of months with no issues. They just shipped one of my orders out this morning in fact.
I think that response needs to be reread by some here. Either it was not read or is being purposely ignored by some of you.

And Some people wonder why New York state is losing population to other states. https://kniferights.org/
People are moving out of New York State because someone in the city can't mail order a knife from one dealer:rolleyes:

The population of the US has always been fluid and people have always used it as an excuse to push their political views.

Indeed, I've been using Knife Center (good exclusives), KnifeJoy, Kaviso, E_Kinves and straight from designer/maker websites more lately. There is so many other good sites out there, being denied by BHQ has opened me up to a ton more things.

Deleted, same reason as above, my apologies

No of course not. It's just another example of the mindset that is causing people to move.
Knife Rights is a great organization to join if you want to support being able to carry knives in the USA.

Fear of lawsuits is an extreme problem across many industries. The Blame mentality and need for a pound of flesh every time life goes sideways is like a cancer. Of course people would need to stop suing over every little thing to fix that problem...

That offends me. I’m gonna sue you. :D

No it's not. Do you really think that a significant number of people quit their jobs, sale their houses, pack up their kids and move because they can't buy the knife or gun that they want? They have wives that go along with decisions like that? There may be a few, but's let's be realistic.

Did New York pass some new legislation recently that sparked BHQ decision or is it just a general CYA on BHQ's part since New York is so hostile to knives and guns?

It’s not knife rights, it’s taxes. Same applies to CA.
That's always been an issue in upstate NY though, ever since I was a kid in the 80s (maybe before)--state supporting the city. My whole family's in upstate NY. It's like anywhere--things to love, things to hate. Taxes are higher, but public education is now funded through college. That's a huge savings on the back end if you've got kids on college track. Most folks who stay feel it's worth it. In fact, with four kids, I've considered moving to NY state for that very reason. It's not a bad place to live and really not prohibitively expensive compared to other places.

But this knife law is extreme. A 3.5" ain't exactly a semiautomatic rifle. I get that it's easier for companies to just stop shipping to certain states rather than sift through all the latest knife laws, but to stop all knife sales to NY seems totally bonkers.

Again, it is NOT all knife sales to New York State. BHQ just shipped me an order to upstate New York this morning.

J Jason E Franzone would you maybe modify the thread title so people don’t keep getting confused?

What is the law? Is it a 3.5" blade is illegal to carry in public?

Interesting. This is what OP wrote: "BHQ... told me straight out that they will no longer ship 'any product' to NY. Amazon seems to feel this way too."

You're probably better off buying from another retailer that doesn't charge tax anyway...
Vince, I suspect they might not charge tax up there, there's a BladeHQ site in Virginia so that's why you and I pay tax to them ;) Don't hold me to it though, I could be wrong.

i knew for sure they dont ship to the city, cause ive been denied many times. I didnt know the state was included in this ban
