Blade Ideas

It seems when I have extra time to sit around and look at my HI blades, different ideas pop into my head. The other day when looking at the fine craftsmanship and beautiful fullers in my 20" chitlangi by Bura, I had an idea for a blade. Looking at the chitlangi where it bends, I thought it would be really sweet to make a smaller matching companion blade from the end of the fullered blade. The blade itself would be approx. 8 inches long with an overall length of 14". It would use a similar handle style to the chit, but would be a chiruwa handle and it would a incorporate a simple brass guard. I decided to do a quick photoshop of my thoughts using a chopped up image of my chitlangi. Do any of you others have ideas along these lines? I just find it fun to think up stuff like this. Mods, let me know if this is taboo here as I am still relatively new to the HI forum. Here is a pic.

I like it. Love the fullers too. What would you call it?

Hmmm, don't know, maybe the Chit Campanion. I purposelfully spelled Companion wrong because it think it would make a pretty sweet camp knife. Creative eh?;)

I also like it, the things I question is the 6" handle. The knife should position itself in your hand and would not need different grip positions, 5" would do it IMO. I also think the ring on the handle could be changed to just some nice carving, for grip and allow for different hand sizes.
It is a great idea and lets hear from all the other knife experts.

I agree with this, a slightly shorter handle would work better and maybe a slightly different handle carving, but something to keep it consistent with the chit.

VERY nice.
Drop the point a litte ( 1/4- 3/8).. well thats my opinion... and it's like a chitter... we all have one...

It does kinda, does'nt it?

Thanks for all of the compliments everybody. I think it would be an awesome all around utility/defensive/camp blade in the vein of the Swamp Rat Camp Tramp and the Fallkniven A2, but it would blow both of those away because it would be an HI blade.:)

Beautiful! I want one!!!

"Campanion," by the way, is already a registered trademark for a somewhat sharpened pry-bar in the Becker line.
