Blade scratches and scratches on knife in general...do you worry about it or let it ride? I got A brand new:Buck 124,119,110,and 110 pro plus with s35vn steel. I noticed A couple scratches on the s35 already. Use em and let the scratches accumulate and tell a story? Or attempt to blade polish?

Yo
I could be mistaken, but isn't this the second thread you've posted worrying about scratches?
Those little scratches won't stop bothering you huh??
I'm telling you, let it go and use the thing and eventually you'll have so many scratches you won't care anymore.
You caught me!! btw do you have Instagram? Follow me @jaredlelandgore

You seem like a good dude, but no sir Blade Forums and Tumblr is the only social media I have if you could call it that.
The only thing I use Tumblr for is knife pictures. I quit all the Facebook, Instagram, Vine, Twitter type of social media after highschool
because I saw no real purpose in keeping up with so many people at one time. I believe there are reasons people come into our lives and go away for a while, if not forever.
Staying connected to all those people all the time seemed very unnatural. Blade Forums is my "guilty social media pleasure" because no one close by cares to talk about knives
the way the good folks on Blade Forums do.

Don't worry, they're just users.
I do have a good deal of carbon steel blades, and patina hides the scratches.
I don't like stainless blades with major sharpening stone rash and such though.

Some people like to buy and build sick trucks with cutting edge parts that would make it an off road beast....but then never let it touch dirt and turn around when they see rain on the horizon.

Some people build the same trucks then proceed to take it off road and use the performance capabilities.

Some people build the same truck and “Whistlin’ Diesel” the thing.

All of this is perfectly fine. You own it. It’s yours to do as you wish.

Scratches and wear happen. I wouldn’t get too worried about it. :)

If it’s something you want to fix, there are craftsman on this forum that can clean up your blades.

Use it. Scratches will accumulate no matter what you do or the finish. Stonewashed blades tend to hide them better but even on them they show. It’s inevitable if you use your knife. In my opinion they add character. The first scratch will sting a bit, but over time and once the new wears off, you’ll forget all about them.

Third I think.

One asking about a 124, one asking about a 110, and now this one (and a plug for his instagram to boot...).

No rule about how many times that i can Ask a question to get as many opinions as i want. Secondly if i was “Plugging” my Instagram, i would Have put that in the title i simply Commented back my Instagram because he is a cool dude and i thought It would be nice to connect if he had social media lastly how much do you have to be on here to count the amount of times anyone posts anything? There are thousands of posts on these forums

This is your second post about this out of 27.Finding out the number of times you post about anything is simple. Do a search.
Quit whining about scratches and use the knives. They're users. Not high dollar, sharp pieces of jewelry.--KV

Don't sweat it. Blade Forums can be a little crabby because it's more of an old farts keepin' it real vibe  (no matter your age)-that's what I love about this place.:)
When you ask a bunch of ole working men about scratches on your blade they're going to take a " lemme teach ya a thing or two sono_O" tone. They mean no harm.
I'd say most here are a well meaning bunch, I just think at this point we'd like to see you scratch that knife up more having fun and getting work done because that's what knives are for, as far as most around here are concerned. If you want a pristine and glistening blade there are quite a few custom makers and service providers on BF that can make that happen,
but what we love most is seeing knives get used, scratched, sharpened, and used some more.

In other words, sometimes folks get like this:

But they aren't really any more sinister than that either :D
It's not worth getting like:

Just use that knife till it looks like this:
Knives+Buck.jpg

We welcome new comers with cigar smoke and a tip of the hat as we polish off a glass of whiskey  more so than open arms  :D
I irritated quite a few with some of my first few posts by being a little snot:poop::poop::oops:
But the more I work, live, and sharpen the more I feel myself relating to the guys and gals that hang around these parts :)

If it’s a user, it better have scratches. If it’s a collection piece, it better not have scratches.
Wouldn’t you prefer a scratch from use than a scratch from dropping it ?

Thanks bro
