Blade scratches and scratches in general

I actually quite like it when a knife has earned it's fair share of scratches (on most of my carry knives). In fact, one downside to carrying and rotating through so many knives is that some miss the opportunity to develop that character as quickly.

Not a knife, but my SwissTool is starting to have so many scratches I can’t but to feel a little pride on it. It feels more and more personal and adds sentimental value.
I like the same with knives.

Blade Forums is my "guilty social media pleasure" because no one close by cares to talk about knives
the way the good folks on Blade Forums do.

Never got into social media...I guess I'm too old and ornery for that stuff.
Love Bladeforums folks, however.

You're not missing anything.
"...for all you old vets...
You can take the boy out of Korea... but,
you can't take Korea out of the boy."
This is awesome, my grandfather has said this a time or two.
Told me he "grew up" overseas as he joined the Army at 17 and turned 18 in Korea.
He even brought a little Korean wife back (my grandmother) and they've been married nearly 60 years now.

I can appreciate a knife in pristine condition but it really depends upon the knife. Some blades just look better with a little bit of wear marks. A Ka-Bar is a good example. A Leatherman Wave is another.

Get a fine scotch brite pad and clean the blade with it. The scratches will get blended into an almost Matt finish. This is what I do with my users. Especially full flat grinds.

No rule about how many times that i can Ask a question to get as many opinions as i want. Secondly if i was “Plugging” my Instagram, i would Have put that in the title i simply Commented back my Instagram because he is a cool dude and i thought It would be nice to connect if he had social media lastly how much do you have to be on here to count the amount of times anyone posts anything? There are thousands of posts on these forums
You're right. There are no rules against being annoying. That said, it won't get you very far when asking a question or getting involved in a serious discussion. Just some advice: use the search function first when you have a question. Read a lot. Tons of good information available here without even posting. Despite the illusion my post count gives me, I actually spend most of my time reading here on BFC.

As for scratches, if you plan on using your knives they will get scratches. Whether it is worth it to polish them out, or even feasible, is up to you. If you don't plan to use your knives then there are no scratches and thus, no problem.

Yo

So I'm a firm no on this one, only thing knife related is where you took a picture from Buck and didnt give them any credit.

Post pics of your new scratched knives, you may get more likes vs. the gross sweaty workout pics.

I dropped my instagram six months ago and week ago my facebook got permanently removed (30 days regret time).. I haven't honestly missed it a bit.

A well-used knife gains character IMHO. It's just too bad we can't send ourselves in for refurbishing when we get to the point where we need replacement:D.

I had assumed the OP was a young feller, like say, around 14yrs old or so. My bad.

OP, polishing out every scratch on a knife that you regularly carry and use is futile; an exercise that borders on short bus busy work. Fill your boots, though. Good luck.

Scratches on knives and guns are the reason humans invented bead blasters. Actually on a daily work knife I couldn't care less what the finish looks like as long as it's razor sharp.

I agree. However, there is a big difference between a well-used knife and one that has been trashed.

Many people trash their knives and then complain that Brand X knives are garbage. You know the type, “I owned one of those, it was a POS. The edge just didn’t hold up”, etc. when they never did anything to maintain the knife.
