Blade Show 2010 is just six weeks away. Some are already completing knives so I guess it’s time to post the thread.

We would sure appreciate pre-views of any BLADE bound knives makers care to share. Even if you post photos in a separate thread, please post them here as well. For future reference, it's very convenient to have all '09 BLADE Show knives in one thread.

If anyone has trouble posting your photos, please feel free to e-mail them to me and I will get them posted up: Kj1056@aol.com

Let's start off with Jerry Fisk's first piece for Blade. Notice it's stamped with Jerry's 30 year mark. Yep Jerry's been doing this a while and it sure shows.

Jerry describes his Bowie.
"This is a carbon steel bowie with an approx 7 1/2 inch blade. The handle is Sambar Stag with the stainless fittings being engraved. This bowie is simple, it would fit in collections in our modern times or would have been at home on the side of a Texas Ranger years ago."

This is what I shall be introducing, just over 520 custom knives.... :)

See you all there!

All the best,
David Darom (ddd)

My Photography is terrible but i will try to get some pics up in the next couple of days. I think i have some of the best knives i have ever made ready for this show.

All nice but Kevin that Fisk is really nice

Looking forward to seeing everyone's work

Here are some I'm working on for Blade.
1. Freeform dagger with damascus, jade, and cast bronze. This is an order I'm delivering (and getting photographed), but I should have it on my table most of the time.
2. Fighter in W2 with cast bronze trim and tulip poplar from Thomas Jefferson's estate. There's a hamon in the blade, my first one.
3. If I have time I'll see if I can't get this dagger done. Lisch steel and. . .

I'll probably try to build a sub hilt since I have an order for one coming up before the show.

David

After almost 200 views, I was wondering if anyone was going to notice. ;)

Good looking knives guys. Should be a great Blade Show this year.

Good lord, David!
Your dagger is killing me...ha ha, no really I can't bear to even look at it now, don't know what's going to happen to me when I get an eyeful of that when its finished:eek: You are a seriously talented man, man:thumbup:

Zoe- your folders are AWESOME!

Great knives, but that last Broadwell dagger (with Lisch damascus) is the icing on the cake. Way to go David:thumbup:

This dagger is truly one amazing beauty!
Where is your table, David?

All the best,

David B. - I really like the look of that W2 fighter - I hope you'll post up pics of all the knives when they are completed.

Roger

Looks like Don's going to have a table full of outstanding knives with
with drop-dead gorgeous handle material.
Like always. ;) :D

Roger, I'll certainly post some pictures of the W-2 fighter. This is my first real attempt at producing a hamon. I have an order for a folder and this is the practice piece. I've read a lot of posts on the techniques and had email conversations with Hanson and Ealy about them. My goal is to have a hamon at the Hanson level, but that may be just a dream on my part!

David, I'm at 27-P. The customer of this knife saw the pics of the original in your book. He keeps asking for more carving though! The original had bronze fitting made by the usual stock removal method, but I'm carving wax and having them cast on this one (and probably the W-2 fighter).

Lorien, I don't want you fainting and crashing your head into your keyboard!

Thanks, gentlemen. You guys are great!

David

don't worry about me, David, the keyboard is quite forgiving compared to the things I usually crash my head into.

Maybe just give me a heads up before you post any more pictures of that knife, and I'll make sure that I go put on my helmet before I check them out:thumbup:. Just don't not post them on account of me ok?

12.4 inch blade running W pattern. 17.5 inch overall length. Patterned and colored 416 ss fittings. Stag of course for the handle.
A fairly traditional southern bowie ;except for the steel and the fittings.
