Blade Show 2007 Images

Thanks for the hard work, Peter. Jason's dagger looks awesome!

That is hard work! Great job, Peter. And, it was nice meeting you.

Here is one that was missing when you took your James Rodebaugh table picture. I liked it so much, I purchased it at the opening bell. Thought it was worth including.

Jason's dagger was awesome and he said he would like to make a sword to complement it!

Peter covered Blade '07 well. Thanks, again.

Speaking of James Rodebaugh, his ABS auction Folder was nothing short of outstanding as were all the auction pieces.

where is the blade show held? from some pics it looks like a small knife show ??? or maybe im mistaken . compared to like a foot ball field how big ??

Welcome to Customs.

Blade is held at the Cobb Galleria Centre in Atlanta, GA. The show room is larger than a football field. It is the largest knife show in the world in terms of attendance, money and importance.

Peter(PTGDVC) would not have pictures of T.A Davidson's table, he collects forged knives.

Tony Bose posts frequently in Traditional, so if you were going to lay claim to someone as a "resident" slipjoint maker, one would do well to put that honorific on Mr. Bose. No insult intended to Mr. Davidson, but he is not Tony Bose.

Hi Peter,

Thanks for posting these. Crazily, it was MY only chance to view the majority of these knives also. Nice...!

We may need to chip in for an oxygen tent for Coop.
To say the least....

I just returned from the drive this evening, and this weekend was probably the hardest work I have accomplished over four days.

That said, the opportunity to be setup at the show exceeded my expectations. It is by every measure also due in large part to the contacts and support I received from members and onlookers of this forum. I was constantly humbled and gladhanding any member, maker, and person who seemed to know me well. Word of mouth is a POWERFUL tool and I was privileged beyond my simple typed words. I re-lived so many warm conversations on my long drive home. :)

Images? You want images? Lemme catch my breath and get going soon. I have a few....  :D

I'll start up another thread when I do.

Coop

You seemed pretty well organized for a one armed paper hanger

What time did you finally pull the plug on Sunday?

P

Coop, that college cheerleader you hired to help you was a pretty good idea. ;) :)

Holy cow, what an awesome week-end!!!! :D

I'm freaking whiped out!!! I only got about 7 hours of sleep the whole week before the show, and only slept about 3-4 hours each night while at the show... but it was SOOOO worth it. I had so much fun.

It was so great to FINALLY get to meet so many friends from here face to face and shake their hands.

One of my highlights was coonfingering the Ms test knives. Jason Knight, Don Hanson, John White.... I got to really look at their stuff, and it was all just absolutely top shelf stuff. So happy for you guys!!!

Finally got to shake hands with the infamous Peter Gill, John Trevaskis, Michael Starr, and Jim Cooper! :D Even better was meeting Coop's SUPER CUTE wife Susan! :D What a fine team they made.

I had a great time with my dad in Atlanta. I wish I could see more of the city one of these years. Perhaps in two years when I'm even MORE FREAKED OUT than I was this time around  :)

Thanks everybody for stopping by and shooting the breeze. This is a truly rich group to be part of.

Congratulations to all the new JS & MS.

Nick, biggest kuddos to you for your achievement. I don't think I advance myself too much in saying that you have a good froup of friends here. We're all eager to sere of your stuff.

Cheers,

Joss

I pulled out all the stops... :p

Peter, I finished my last shutter click at 2pm and we packed up completely by 4pm. Driving home by five.

I KNEW my wife would be more of a surprise than me. She was one of TWO great women I surrounded myself with this weekend: Tina Hanson (Don Hanson III, MS's wife ;)) The two of them not only made my life easier, they were easy on the eyes also.... :D

Gotta go...

Coop

Im glad to see Jason win the award. We are actually really good friends with him and see him abotu once every 2 weeks.

I talked to him on the phone earlier. He was telling me about him receiving his mastersmith this past weekend. He jokingly told me : "I now have my mastersmith and I still dont know what the hell im doing"

Congrats Jason!

Thanks alot for taking and posting the pictures of everyones knives, especially mine. I remember you taking the shot but would have like to officially meet you and visit with you for a while.
