Blade Show 2010 • From the Studio

Lets start with simple.

Gayle Bradley's knives are good examples of getting it correct in form first.

And a family portrait:

Getting more complex.

Charlie and Harry Mathews take a simple hunter and sheath, and then create an engaging handle to hold or to admire.

Off the charts complexity. Those are bones digesting in the Goblin's belly.

A face only a mother could love. ;) Check out the small billet.

Still with me here? I have about 20+ more to go!

Awaiting Makers: I appreciate your patience. From the outset I knew this would take time. I like to spend more Show studio time getting the lighting correct, and then quietly here at my studio doing the editing. I am working steadily, but I'm not rushing.

Like a handmade knife, the quality takes time. I'm printing while I'm editing and Susan is filling mailers.

Thank you.

Jim

Coop,

I also think that the Jerry Fisk MS "Dowie" as he calls his combination Dirk and Bowie was one of my favorites from the show. Great image.

Jim

looks like i missed an amazing show. thanks for posting all the pics!

Coop, thanks for all the hard work you put into this one. The pics show this Goblin in all its glory.

I think his "daddy" loves him too, and will take good care of him.:D;)

That goblin folder is off the charts.

Roger

I think so too, and I'm real pleased with it:cool::thumbup:

Congrats Marcel - I figured this had to be the piece you were trying to catch a glimpse of in the show review threads.

It's been a LONG week. Let's see how impressive some of these knives are.

Here are THREE of the ABS Journeyman smiths who passed:

My 'homeboy' Mace (He lives 40 mins away.) This, he claims, is his best piece to date. I'd have to agree!

And a final ABS salute to a classic Mastersmith we love:

More tonight.

Just stunning. All of them. Jim, thank you. I only made it through mid Friday afternoon before my foot gave out on me and missed seeing you as well as many of other friends and great knives.

That last group is chock full of my kinda knives. Mace's dagger rocks and Terry's bowie is a terrific piece.

Thanks for all the photos and info Coop.

Roger

A little late to the party. But what a super bunch of well photographed knives!

Thanks for the great work, Coop!

It was great to meet you Coop. I was delighted to hear about your Impreza's current times. Please send me the you tube link for that so I can post it on our Subaru club forum.:)

Your pics are stunning.......as usual.:p
