Just wanted to tell Nick congratulations again for receiving the Peck Award, Well deserved, and congradulations to all those that Passed the JS & MS judging.
I also really enjoyed the visits with Bladeforums J. & Tess Neilson and Raymond Richards. I've shared so many e-mails with these guys it was nice to finally meet them.
My wife and I had a wonderful time, I'm sorry I didn't get around to meet so many more then we did, but it was so easy to walk past people and never have a chance to even know they were there, the crowds were great and many times when we did try to get to a persons table, it was just impossible for all the people. I especially want to apologize for not getting back to Mace Vitale or Larry Bailey's tables to thank them for their generousity with VIP passes, gentleman we did stop by but you were both off doing business somewhere else and we just didn't get back around, I'm sorry we missed you, but hopefully we'll get the chance again next year, As I hope with so many others that I missed this year, hopefully next year we'll be able to stay for all 3 days.

Here's a picture I got Nick to pose for, you would have had to kill him to pry that award out of him hands. :D :D

Again I'm sorry I missed so many.

Bill

Bill

Well, considering the fact that Nick could twist my head off with but a mere flick of his thumb and forefinger, I'm sure not gonna try to take it out of his hands! :D

Good seein ya again, Bill. :)

Hey does anyone know if Derrick Wulf made his JS at the show? I know he passed the performance test last year and I believe he was going down to try for his JS this last weekend.

Hey Justin - unfortunately I didn't get my knives done and therefore did not test. That said, my rather feeble efforts were a tremendous (and humbling) learning experience that will serve me well when I test in '08.

Meanwhile, though I congratulated him in person at the show I want to again extend my heartfelt congratulations to Nick, whose knives were just extraordinary. I shared a cab back to the airport with one of the JS judges who told me that there were three knives in the running for the Peck award. All three were Nick's.

Congrat's Nick!

Congrats to Bill for his JS and SunfishMan for his MS, too!

I second that and will say it was great getting to meet Don Hanson and Ray Richards at the show. Congrats to Ray on his two awards as well.

Congrats Nick! From the pics of your judging knives that I saw, all the accolades were well earned.

Someday I hope to make it down to Blade....someday....

Wow, congratulations to all the knifemakers who passed the JS & MS tests, and to all who garnered awards.

It's humbleing to be on this forum with so many great knife makers.

I hope someday to be able to produce knives that will be close to the quality of fit, finish and most importantly HT as these makers.

Again, congratulations to you all

Dang, Ray took home a couple more plaques? Good for you, Ray!

Congrats to Longrifle for his JS, too.

Definately well deserved by nick,
I have always loved your style its hard to understand how you came so far so fast you must be very dedicated.

Golly, what a weekend it was for our forum guys!! Congradulations to each and every one of you!

Congrats Nick!

Also, I forgot to congradulate you Bill, for JS. My brain was fried:eek:

Good seeing you there Bill.

Thanks everyone for the mention.

Don I know what you mean, its amazing how freaking nervous this makes a person and then when its over it seems like everything shuts down for a while. I wanted to stay and watch the cutting competition but I forgot all about it, wanted to come by and see your amazing work again and tell you I'd see you at Chicago, but didn't make that either. Seems like I was only there in body most of the time and my pea brain was off playing checkers or something. :D

Bill

Thanks Bill! and thanks everyone else too. :D

Bill, all 5 of your submitted knives were extremely well made and good looking. Not one of them that didn't just melt in your hand.

What an experience! I'm WHIPED out. Sooooo freaking tired from all the work getting ready and then only a few hours sleep each night at the show.

I can't believe I have to go back to work tomorrow! :(

This was one of the most stressful things I've ever gone through. At least Bill, Matt Roberts, and I got to stand outside the judging room and lean on each other rather than just sweat it alone.

I was one of the last ones called back in and I was really starting to get riled up!

One of the very coolest things about the show was FINALLY getting to shake hands with so many friends I've made on here. It's a bit surreal to talk to somebody for 4 or 5 years online and then just all of a sudden you're standing there shaking their hand! :D

I hope that happens with more of my friends from here.

Oh, and one of my other big highlights was finally to quit kicking Rob Frink's tires and order a fully loaded KMG. Rob has been so patient with me threatening to buy one for years... I knew while working on my Js knives that I need another grinder even more than I needed some of the other tools I've bought recently. I can't wait Rob! :D

Thanks again Bill :)

Congrats Nick. Your JS Certificate and the Award are very well deserved. Just think you only have to stand outside that door one more time two years from now.
