Blade Show pics, hopefully real time.

Woah its Elliot. I've always wondered what he looks like...now I just need a picture of Bastid :p

This is from a couple of years ago, but Gus (Bastid) is on the far right....without his obligatory satchel of knives ;)

He is moving like a rabbit...well, he moves like a rabbit for about 10 feet and then he moves like a really slow rabbit

Bless his heart...
Life at a slower pace takes some adjusting...
In the long run, it is kinda nice!;)
I love You Guys!

Great pic's Campbell....Good times! I really enjoyed the Thursday night gathering in Tony's room. It was great to put faces with names. Hope to see more or the forumites next year.

I made some good friends, gots me some steel, stag, and ivory. Now it's time to get back to work!

Sounds great Brent. I really wish I could have been there.

Just back this afternoon and as usual it was an awesome time.

Great to meet up with many old friends again and make some terrific new ones.

Some of our favorite makers had great shows and sold out quickly while other excellent (and fully deserving) makers did not do quite as well. You just never know...The market can be fickle and where good fortune decides to shine is never an easy guess.

A couple of (relatively) new and very exciting makers I got to meet were Enrique Pena and Brent Cramer. I was fortunate enough to pick up a nice knife from the former and will definitely own (at least) one from the latter.

Picked up a total of five knives by some excellent makers and hope to be able to post some images this week.

The five knives are:

1. Stag "Tracker" (prototype) by Jerry Halfrich

2. "Euro" UltraLight (prototype) by Jerry Halfrich. (Jerry had been carrying that one at the show but had to go home with a production knife in his pocket. ;))

3. Remington "Bullet" lockback in stag by Joel Chamblin

4. "Gunstock Jack" by Enrique Pena in jigged bone and CPM-154

5. Ivory Wharncliffe Trapper by Ken Erickson that I purchased (aftermarket) from a couple of forum friends that happened to show it to me after breakfast on Saturday.

And finally, Richard Rogers was kind enough to bring a bone handled sowbelly to offer me at the show. He told me that if I didn't prefer the jigged bone I could opt for a different scale material after the show and so I should have a beautiful ivory sowbelly stockman made by Richard in the coming weeks.

Pretty exciting stuff considering I hadn't been psyched prior to the show. (Imagine what I might have done had I been excited!:p)

Anyway, thanks to all my friends for making the show a standout...even moreso for the friends than the knives.:thumbup:

(Oh, and just FYI, I'm not the toothy fish above either. :p)

Elliot,

I didn't know it was you at the time but I met you at Rick Menefee's table where I got to see and handle some of the knives you pick up at blade. They were beautiful and it was great meeting you.

Sorry we didn't make the connection. We'll make up for it next time. I remember the moment though and it's always fun over at big Rick's table.
