Blade show so far :) New knife pics added

Nice Review Joe it was great show so good to see the folk's I only see once a year Got some supplies meet some new folks and all my knives found good home's I cant wait to see the pic Coop took of the sun fighter. It goes by so fast seams like a dream right now still trying to make sense of it all. and glad to be back home.

Dave great seeing you and huge props for the Best Damascus award........you deserve it

Dave, you have been making some monster damascus of late. It was only a matter of time before the judges woke up and took notice.;) Congrats on the award.

I particularly appreciate your thoughts on the Hurak - and they echo my own. That's a lot of serious knife in a compact, portable package. From a design standpoint, I also found it to be a standout piece. I would have been happy with any one - but I'm just rael happy to have one. Paul's going to do me up a slightly fancified Scout sheath for it - can't wait!

Joe, excellent meeting up with you again for my second bladeshow!! It was a great weekend for great friends and stellar knives!

Joe has been a wonderful source to a relatively newbie in the world of custom knives. Joe showing me his Jason knight founder's bowie last blade show helped to kick start my newest passion in the knife world...the forged blade!

Joe and I have spoken quite a few times over the year on the phone and was always treated like a long lost friend. It was very much the same with many other fellow collectors including, Jon klein, Rob Connally, Jon Brand to name a few...I have found a welcomed place this hobby/addiction we share!!:cool:

I am thankful for those who were present although Rob Connally and Jon Brandt sadly were not and missed.

It was wonderful meeting up with many of the great makers I met last year, Jason Knight, Lin Rhea, Sam Lurquin, J R Cook, R J Martin, John Horrigan off the top of my head.

This year I made it a point to say hello to many other makers I have yet to have met in person, Dave Mirabile,
Don Hanson, John White, Dave lisch, burt Foster ,Bill Buxton,Karl Anderson, Paul Long, Tom Overeynder and many other fantastic makers to many to list.

Also... great forumites I met this year for the first time, Roger P, Peter (PTGDVC), Joe (canineforge) and Frederic (lieff).

I was wise enough to purchase one of the cool autos by Matt Diskin, what else did I buy??? well those beauties are deserving of their own thread which will be coming very soon. :p Hint, think Knight, Rhea, and Lurquin :)

I am home safely after a long plane delay and terrible weather in atlanta...after going full tilt on little to no sleep for 4 days, I am still a bit sluggish so I have been lazy about writing on the boards.:(

My knives are in transit home with a buddy who drove from Indy...my iphone had a meltdown and having major issues uploading the few pictures I had taken except one with Jason knight so I asked my friend to take pics of my knives and email them before he puts them in the mail to Paul Long for some pants.

Glad you got this pic of me because folks may say I'm fibbing about attending the largest knife show in the world with no pics to show for it lol ...my good buddy Maker Chuck Gedraitis is center stage.... I'm the handsome looking italian type on the right

regards Jeff

Jeff, thanks for the shout out! I look forward to meeting you next year. This was a very depressing weekend for me, just working the whole time thinking about all you guys in the pit and at the show. Congrats on your knives. The Rhea is awesome looking and I can't wait to see the others. I'm jealous I could not hop on the Lurquin wagon this year as alot of you guys have. His stuff looks killer.. Didn't know about it for very long either. I can't really complain about not making the show though because I got some VERY nice knives recently which are part of the reason I did not go. . and the maker was gracious enough to fit me in during the crunch. Thanks Don, if you are reading this.

Thanks for the report Jeff - it was great meeting you and big congrats again on the new additions. We have very similar tastes in forged blades - as you know, I also added a Knight and a Lurquin. Felt like I was in your hip pocket half the time. :p

Hey Jeff, congrats on your scores at the show! Can't wait to see them after they catch up with you. From the threads posted sounds like it was a stellar show.

Thanks for the kind words. Looking forward to '13.

Joe my friend, its always great seeing you at BLADE! We never really have much time to just sit back and shoot the shit since we`re both usually in a dead run to get somewhere, but that doesnt make it any less awesome in my book. Glad to hear you and Diskin were kickin ass and taking names with his knives! The one Ive got sitting here next to me is pretty freakin awesome!

I would like to give out a big Thanks to Norbert for acting as an intermediator for Sam and I and wish that he could also have attended the show

Merci beau coup Norbert

It's me Joe, "Merci beaucoup" ;) Thanks to you to have share us "your" blade show...

Rain day here so I came home early and got some pics of my new Disken D/A Auto

This one has the Lightening Strike Carbon Fiber scales and back spacer

The blade is 3 5/8 inch and made of Elmax

Frame is titanium with a stainless frame lock

The stud and all hardware are titanium

I am not a huge folder fan but when I have to carry one it is usually an auto :)

This double action is the nicest (as much as I hate the word tactical) tactical gentlemans folder that I have come across

It feels very good in the hand and I am very impressed with this knife

The pocket clips fasteners are hidden under the clip and the clip slides into a channel so the screws only keep the clip from sliding out of the channel. I do not like clips but again this one is ingenious and will not loosen up with use and is nicely proportioned. This knife is thought out to the max

Joe,

I was looking forward to seeing you at blade. Your personality is contagious. Glad you liked the sword cane. It was fun to make.

Scott

Scott the sword cane was truly something that I liked......might of actually been the coolest piece I saw this year :)

Your work is awesome and I really like who you are

Like you said the knives are great but the people is where it's at :)

Best quote of the whole thread, and thanks for taking the time to share so much with us. I was there and missed half of your fine photos and discriptions. Of, course, you move at around 100 mph, and I am stuck on 55. ;) Always a pleasure to see you, man, and I really appreciate your energy. Good times, good friends.

Thanks for showing me the Mirabile fighter, and Matt's mid-tech...both impressive, to say the least.

Your discription of Sam's Hurak design is spot on. Love the number you acquired! It has your name written all over it.

I picked up my first Hurak from Sam as an order earlier this year (and posted Coop's image on here), and then added a hunter black and white combo at the show. Moose/damascus and G10/W2. Sam's knives become a part of you the second you pick them up. Here is my trio:

Love that backdrop bow you're propping with!

The hand has been a pain! It hasn't hurt at all, put is a PITA to deal with day-to-day. But, it is improving each day. If anybody buys a knife from Danbo's shop, I can vouch for his sharpening skills. :p

1st in line for the Moose - Joe P. It's done.

Enjoyed the fun, blood and all.
