Blade Show - Who (and what) are going?!

^^^ Easier to go as an exhibitor. Anyone would like to pitch in and we'll go as a gaggle under the banner of: Carothers Pre-Owned Knives AKA "CPOK" :)

Other than that, I'm willing to go as one of the other exhibitor's gofer, waterboy, coffeeboy and will also foot their lodging (room only, no Four Seasons type of luxury!) in order to gain advantage over those waiting in the none-exhibitor line ;)

Yes.. what he said.. put me down for that.

Guys were waiting from Thursday night from what I was told.
I believe there were some special edition/limited knives from some knife makers there that lead to people camping out. Talked to some people Saturday morning and they mentioned that they waited 7 hours in line Friday morning to try to get some Lucky 13 knives and some other makers and those knives sold out in 26 minutes (over 200 knives).

All I should need is an early bird pass, but with Nathan's fame growing, I could be wrong.;)

My first thought when i read this was "..man, that's crazy..".

My second thought was "..yeah, I guess I can do that..".

Then I leaned over and said to my wife.."Babe, I'm not sure if you're going to want to come with me to Blade next year."

Classic hahaha

We just gotta start telling everyone his knives and steel sucks. That's the only way we can keep his perfection a secret! Like when I clear my plate of food and tell everyone "don't eat that I got a dumpster at home just put the rest in my truck so y'all don't have to suffer through it"

Oh, I'm sure she will attend, just not while I'm sitting in line for the first 16 hours.

She is interested to meet "The Machinists" that I keep talking about.

I suck so bad at conversation. If she swings by with you, plan on a lot of "um, uh, derp" from me...

But Jo and I love to meet people. I'm really bad at both names and faces (I can remember about two people, and I think one is my mom), but I enjoy meeting the folks I know from the forum.

I know it's a full year away, but we are both looking forward to it! We had hoped to make it this year, but we couldn't work it out. Thanks for taking the time to reply! I know you guys must be pretty beat after such a busy weekend.

I was fortunate to snag an FK at the show. My life is complete. I'd like to say this is my last knife. How many users could I possible need right?

The Blade Show official Facebook page shows 4 guys that got in line at noon Thursday. 24 hours to wait.

Lucky 13, Dark Timber, and others sold out within minutes of the doors opening at noon Friday.

With possibly 5 to 7,000 in line, only the first couple hundred get those limited number of blades from small in demand makers.

It varies year to year, but the overall picture seems to be growing in numbers. And the makers are challenged with promoting sales, and also keeping fans appeased.

^^^ Wow! Just wow! OK, I'm prepared to up the ante and even pay for the Four Seasons but the mini-bar remains locked. Some of you guys can't be trusted with a free mini-bar :D

I've said that to myself on many an occasion, when looking at more than a life-times supply of knives in front of me and still remained unable to let any go, and added more instead. In fact, with the exact same knife in question.

You don't even want to know how many of them I have now LOL.

Easy peasy there Mate! I'm willing to coach you to master remembering names and faces for a very moderate bartering proposition for these tools I here you're good at making.

The first lesson is free and on me! here it goes: Your name is Nathan Carothers and you look like this:

Practice this and then PM me so that we can work out the rest of the details :)

If you walk around your yard with a knife like that in your hand, boss mode. I should try it at work some day.
