I'll be wandering about, trying to find all of the people I missed last year, without missing anyone this year. Ah, the impossible Blade Show quest!

Lifter,

In fact, three Jones brothers is legal. As they are from the south and the show is in the south.

Generally, they don't venture north due to court injunctions.

It seems they were caught smuggling in Kentucky. Books and Shoes I belive it was.

Any way it's been several years now and the negative views towards education and footwear that were once pervasive in the south are softening.

You have to love the south...friendly people, great BBQ! It's just best to stay away from the family reunions (never trust a family who's family tree does not fork) and keep off the banks when canoeing!

Is this thread going to turn into a "Let's all pick on the Jones Brothers" thread?

BTW, The 3rd Jones Brother is Bob Clark. We aren't related at all but we are so much alike that we just consider ourselves brothers. You might say we are triplet sons of different mothers.

Hey Barry, I hope you were kidding about being picked on
smile.gif
I only joke with you and Phillip cause I like youse(I'm a NYer).

I might be your biggest fan besides Jack Collins.
Hey Les, tell Bob Neal, this model 4 Carson I got from him at ECCKS is awesome. Kit saw it and said it was one of the early ones.

We will be at 27-E , don't know where it is because this will be our first Blade Show !
("We" are , Anders Johansson and Viveca Sahlin .) So if you will see knives (some "puukkos") and scrimshaw from Sweden , you are very welcome . Hope that we will have some time to walk around and meet some of you people !
See You !!
Anders .

The Galleria hotel is in the Galleria Center (show location). It is nice, but on the pricey side for Atlanta.
There is a Hampton Inn very close by (a lot of folks stay there) as well as some less expensive ones that would not be to good of a choice due to clientele and crime. -

.

I have a knifemaker friend that stays at the Motel 6 a few miles away. I keep telling him there is about 1 to 2 murders a month there, but that is where he wants to stay.
Let me know if I can help with other suggestions. Pretty much all of the national chains are within 10 or 15 miles.
The Hampton is good because it is within easy walking distance (1/2 mile). Call quickly if you decide on it.

Hampton Inn Cumberland Mall Atlanta 800-426-7866
Waverly (Renaissance Atlanta) 800-468-3571

At least that is a start it is from a letter I sent to a member here who was looking for a hotel. Email me if I can help. I live about 15 to 20 min away in good traffic

Oh yeah some advise - Stay out of bars with no windows
biggrin.gif

Just a quick argument for staying at the Galleria - the lobby "pit" area is the single greatest knife related social event I've ever been to. Late nights smoking cigars, drinking beers, and talking with a goodly proportion of the knife world. Set yourself up for as short a stagger home as possible, and stay late!

We'll be there at table 24-D. Same place as last year but, hopefully, with lots of new stuff!

Just ask "The Brothers Jones" if you get lost.

We'll also have FREE TACTICAL M&M's!

Gotta agree with Brian. Some of the best times I have had in knifedom have been in that pit.

I will be there starting Thursday night after they throw us out of set up. (and I am a pretty wimpy drinker in my old age, because I like the morning a whole lot

Les,
I have known Lifter(Dave) for quite some time now. We have been communicating thru email and have become good friends. We both happen to be members of the Brute Squad. We do a lot of joking and kidding with one another. Heck, I was even joking with you in my posts. Somebody has to provide some comedy relief to the forums every now and then.

Dave (Lifter),
The remarks about being picked on are all true. The trashing part is true as well. People had a little luck picking on one of us at a time but if they ever got us both they got crunched. That explains why they used to call us the Twin Crunch.

Oh, You still can't have my Herron stag hunter.

Thanks for the hotel info, Gus et al. We've used Hampton Inns exclusively for the past 11 years so I'll check it out.

Hello

I wiil be at table 14-A, along with Flavio Ikoma and maybe ricardo Lala, too.
Can't wait to meet you, Gus, and Elliott and all the other nice guys.
Also, Flavio loved the icecream at "Ruby Tuesday", even though I hated the bier's price - around 7 times more expensive than the same over here!
