Dang, the trough was HOGged today! Third through the door and I missed out on the orange/black Halloween ASH-1!! Blast! But I scored nevertheless. When the sly folks behind the counter say it's already all out, be wary, these be wily hogs.

I just got home, was the first one to leave dinner at McMenamins Kennedy School; a pretty swank brewery if I've ever seen one. I took a few pics, most of which I'm positive came out really bad, but I'll check 'em out and post tomorrow.
It was nice to meet all the great folks down there, you know who you are!
Who had the biggest haul? I know KellyGlanzer did better than me, but I don't know if he's the biggest HOG of them all...
To those of you that scored the punkin ASH-1's and decide to flip them when you get home and realize how much you splurged, keep me in your thoughts!

Hey Mikeymoto, I just got home myself. It was great meeting you and your wife and I'm glad you made it back safe. I dropped Kelley off and flew like the wind.
I'll second the estimate of "Awesome" for the Pumpkin ASH! Whoever got it, I want you to know I really tried to wipe it off after I fondled it.

I only got one picture, but others took many. I'm sure well see them soon.
I just have to say, meeting all the folks I've "met" on the forums in person was incredible. Not only a face, but a real personality can be put to the names we have here.
I do wish the show was somewhere a little nicer. Like the place we went to dinner last nite. It has as much room and 2 bars.
There was a lot of nice custom knives on the table, but seemed a little more geared for the right part of the country. More "collectors" than "users". Skunk and family had some nice stuff from the Store, and the Pumpkin Wardens (more coming to the store hopefully) are thick, satin and sweet! I have to reiterate here, the ASH-1 is INCREDIBLE! It is the only blade I will have to have both Mag and standard slabs on.
Sorry for the lonely pic, but I forgot I had a camera until the show was about to close.

I got to the show about 20 minutes early, leaving me time to finish my morning coffee and hit the bathroom. I picked up my VIP pass (thanks, Skunk!) and waited. Another guy came in with a Busse coffin shirt on, but I didn't get his name. Finally they let us in. I was third in line headed over to the Busse table. That was my fatal mistake. I should have RUN to that table like my life depended on it! That's how I missed out on the orange ASH-1. Who did I lose it to, you ask? We chatted a little bit but I forgot his name/forum name. Here's the sneaky feller on the left here:
Middle is KellyGlanzer and right is Mymindisamob. Like MMIAM mentioned in his post above, I definitely agree it's awesome to put a face to the online name and get a chance to talk for a bit in real life. It makes the forum experience that much better.
Anyway, back to the show. The theme quickly became, if there's any chance you might want to buy it, don't put it back on the table!
Here's RescueMike in the hat:
On the left of RescueMike, MMIAB eyes that blade in Kelly's hands, willing him to lay it back on the table for just one instant.
I think the initial rush wiped Skunk out, and he needed a moment to pull himself together.
Knives...this is about knives, you say? Here's some knives:
I walked the floor and checked out the other booths at the show. I met Okuden and he was a very nice guy; I'm giving him a call next time I need some kydex...and he's in my neck of the woods too.
I also came across the Chris Reeve table and my curiosity got the best of me so I picked up a small Sebenza. Cool folder!

That's all I've got. I had a great time, and I will definitely be going to Blade West from now on.
