Dear lord, they're bragging about finding sharp and pointy gardening tools in a garden as if they foiled a terrorist plot. I hope this is actually a parody account, but sadly it's totally believable.

I feel bad for any cutlery enthusiast who has the misfortune to reside in the UK.

Did you see the video at the same link of the thieves on motorbikes who calmly stood around while cutting the chain off a motorbike they were attempting to steal? Then smashing car windows with a hammer before they rode off? This is what happens when you disarm a country's citizens and make self-defense a crime!

I'm worried about the britbongs losing their knives altogether now that the murder rate (largely with knives) in London has eclipsed that of New York. It's almost as if people who want to do bad things with object X will just find a way to do them with object Y or Z if you ban them.

Life without kitchen knives will be interesting. I'm assuming they'll have special knife licensing for people to cut up food, which could be a big job creator. You go to the store and buy a steak, then you take it to the licensed cutter who cuts it down into bite sized pieces that you can take home and cook with nothing more dangerous than a spatula.

That is, until someone breaks the flat part off the spatula and shanks someone with the pointy handle . . . lol, where will it end? If they find out you can strangle someone or beat them to death how will UK-based forum members type after they've turned in their deadly hands? ;)

Yes very kind young men not good at theft but good at smashing someones auto window.
And here in the good old USA even if you would catch them there is really little you can do under our liberal laws today. ARRRRRRRRrrrrrrrrr.
 
Could anyone explain the logic behind this? Do people actually think they can stop violence by restricting freedoms? Murder is illegal. Assault is illegal.

Literally everything is a dangerous object that can kill.

How can the people there go along with this without question?!? Wow. Just mind boggling.

Feeling safe and being safe are to different things. The promise of saftey if guns/knives/ sharp sticks/cars/trucks are banned is an illusion.

I think in part political correctness coupled with peoples inflated sense of importance is responsible. Ala "I don't like this I find it threatening" making a big stink about it somewhere reasonably public and politicians caving in and airing on the seemingly save side to avoid a "sh$&#tstorm".

What amazes me is that they want to remove all weapons from the public and thus our ability to defend ourselves. What are we supposed to do wait for the police to get there?

Well I thought those same people said the police are racist and shooting minorities for sport!? So I find it funny they would trust their saftey to them.

Criminals do not follow the law. They will carry a weapon no matter how many laws you make against it. And guess what happens when one carrying a weapon ends up in jail. Another one is right there to take his place.

I've always been suspicious of gardeners. I mean, they have access to fertilizer (explosives) and lots of sharp implements. They're public safety threats waiting to happen! :eek:

You may laugh, but just wait until the Brotherhood of the Green Thumb releases its manifesto!
