These are images of the setup knife for the 2012 BF Traditional project. It is used to make the dies that cut the pieces, and to guide the process. It has to be very precise!
Other than that, I probably can't answer too many questions. The final product will do most of that.

Well I'll be damned - looks like they got the Wharncliffe profile right. It has a nice continuous curve along the spine for a change.

Edit: Just placed my order (I was holding out for a reliable preview pic. Thanks, Charlie!)

Nice! The run-up doesn't look as bad as it did in the sketch. Thanks, Charlie.

I was a bit worried that it would be a little too wide for my taste, but I stand corrected. I especially like the transition from the handle to the blades, no kink or bend, just a nice extension of the handle.

Looks like it's going to be a dandy! Looks like it flows
together nicely... Well done! Looks like your hand is on this one Charlie.
Will they do a cut and drawn swedge? Just curious....

Jason

Can't wait! Looks great so far....

Simply beautiful. Thanks for the teasers! :D I think there will be a lot of members regretting passing on this one when it finally arrives. Gonna have to claw together enough scratch for another one...!!!

The line drawing in the Forum Knife description thread shows both blades with a cut swedge:

A cut swedge looks great on a clip blade, but Wharncliffes traditionally have drawn swedges (like Tony does it). IMO, they look much better this way:

I agree with Rick's take on the swedges. They should be "cut" on the clips, and "drawn" on the wharncliffes!!

this is encouraging -- it means the project is progressing nicely.

I like what's in those pics very much. Makes me think it will be pretty comfy in hand using either blade. Thanks for the info Charlie.
