BladeForums 2012 Traditional Knife Preview!

looking good! I love the Tony Bose knife(knives) but would not be put off if they cut both swedges. I think it will look great either way.

THANKS! Charlie. I appreciate you posting this.

I love looking at those pics.

The sweet lines of the set up knife made the decision for me … just snagged one.

Been regretting not grabbing the 2011 EO last year - not missing out on this!

Charlie, I'm curious. What purpose do the slits leading from the edges to the pin holes serve on the setup knife please? It's not something I've seen done before. I have a theory that the pins will need to be reasonably easily removed & replaced a number of times as this is the master pattern & the slit allows for that while reducing the likelihood of wear or other damage to the holes - as you say, this is a precision / master pattern. Am I right?

I agree that on a single blade wharncliff knife, a drawn swedge fits better with the blade shape aesthetically, but possibly on the two bladed knife, it looks nicer to have the two blades together with the same swedge? this is maybe why GEC opted for this?

I was a bit worried that it would be a little too wide for my taste, but I stand corrected. I especially like the transition from the handle to the blades, no kink or bend, just a nice extension of the handle.

Me too on the width. I was hoping we would stay close to Tony's pattern which makes for a great pocket carry and it looks like it will.

Looks like I might have to pick up a couple. Thank you for the sneak peak Charlie.

That is really looking great. Really nice to see this coming along already, too.

Thanks for the pics... Looks like I will be going back for a second one after next paycheck. ;)

It was likely cut out with an EDM, which uses a wire that would cut in from the edge & then cut the hole (rather than bore it out).

Now I realize another reason why I like this knife so much, that handle looks very comfy :D
