BladeForums 2012 Traditional Knife Preview!

We told GEC (through Spark) to change the swedge on the wharnie to a draw swedge after that drawing was created. I haven't heard "no" to this so I assume it's a go. It should be confirmed by the prototype.

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Just wish I had the moola for more than one knife now!!!! :D

I wish I had funds for one! The full, rounded spine on the wharncliffe, combined with a strong curve to the clip will make this a great knife. Hope the secondary market isn't too mean to me when finances come around and I can start buying more than $5 knives!

Congrats to all getting one- looks like a winner!

Thanks for sharing Waynorth. Can't wait to see a proto. Looks beautiful so far.

I feel your pain. I've been fortunate to be able to put a bit aside every now & again this year. :)
It's not easy, especially in these testing times. However I decided a while back that if I only buy one knife a year, it was to be the Trad. forum knife. I've kept pretty much to that philosophy, adding only 3-5 knives to the collection since moving to Oz.
Back in the UK I was quite a prolific hoarder - can't really call it a collection as there's not a great deal of consistency. ;) Except that I do have one of every Trad. forum knife. :)
A couple of years ago I missed the order, and a very generous member gave me one of their spares. My ambition is to be able to buy multiples & run giveaways in order to pay it forward. Hopefully the next job will enable me to realise that ambition.
In the meantime, may you be as fortunate as I was.

Great work guys. Protourist, myself and AKC were talking about this knife today at lunch. Mack and I donned our 2011's. Mine has war wounds, I took it deep sea fishing and it got some battle scars from the trip. Scars can be precious memories.

I am really digging this pattern and am excited to have one incoming.

Had to drool some more.

Yup, me too. Frank this one is gonna be a sleeper, with a bigger spike of the usual, "I wish I had ordered one!" than we have ever had before....

I hope they just get it on order, I bet it will rock our socks off.

I took my case texas jack large blade out and put it on top of my swayback jack large blade out, guess what that looks like ;)

I'll throw up the actual tube art when i get the final go ahead from our esteemed 2012 council

Whoa, that's grand.

I'm newly tempted to try go get the knife just for that label.

I have to agree with Andy. Gene's art work just makes these knives even more special to me. There are going to be a lot of oh's and awe's over the whole label.

Gene, thank you again for selflessly putting your talent to work on this.
