BladeForums 2024 Traditional Knife

Yes it would be handy to know....Sue has communicated that she will provide the info needed for the labels...

I'd just like to know so that if it's a bizarre choice (anything but serpentine or bollocks) I can start getting used to the (bad) idea. 🤣

Traditionally, most equal-end knives have cam tangs - no half stops!!View attachment 2679963
I used to feel a little gypped if a knife had no half stops. Now, I just kinda take each one on it's own merits. Some half-stops are not executed correctly for me - too jarring. Conversely, some cam tangs aren't executed to my liking either - too mushy. Clearly, there are perfectly splendid examples of both. I think at this point, when I see an equal ender, I expect cam tangs.

Wowsers, Charlie! That spear-bladed sweetie (with a punch? 😮) - second from the top in the last pic - is speaking my language! What a beauty!! 😍 Got any details off-hand?

No half stops!

Wow! At last, so THIS is what the Bone will be and the SHIELD on the forthcoming Forum Knife 😍 I'll have to start scraping up funds ;) 🤣

WHY would anybody want stinking HS on a Stockman!!!!????:rolleyes: I like the smooth open and close of a Cam or as Sade says 'Smooth Operator'

The only place I like half stops is on the screwdriver blades of my Swiss Army knives. Well I guess it wouldn't have to be just SAKs. Half stops would be appropriate on just about any screwdriver blade. Doesn't really matter who made the knife. I don't like them on cutting blades though.

O.B.

Will it be a good spinner? My KaBar 1100 spins like a top. This Tuna Valley does a decent job too. The KaBar is the best fidget spinner ever, and it can cut my sandwich, or peel an apple!!

Finally - someone's asking the real questions! LOL! I think we need a dedicated thread to knives that spin well.

The Buck 301 2 blade in my pocket does pretty descent, but has a slight side-to-side wobble, especially at high speed.
