Creeping up on 40. I remember when we didn't even have forums like this, but news groups like rec.knives.

Before selecting my age on the poll, I predicted it would breakdown almost exactly as it is.

While I know this poll is only meant to represent Bladeforums, I get the feeling that the age range in the knife hobby in general is more varied. I think that the guys 30+ are more likely to participate on a traditional internet "forum" like Bladeforums, while younger knife fans will tend to use newer forms of internet community, like Discord, Reddit, Instagram and the like. Reddit alone has knifeclub with 140k+ users. Crazy!

Looks like 31-40 is taking it. I'm a little surprised, as I thought the Fudd demographic would be most represented. Of course these results only mean that 31-40 is the age group most likely to respond to online polls, but I'm not a stats guy so that's as far as I'm gonna analyze this.

I’m surprised there’s not more in the 21-30 range. Interesting poll.
26 here and its been a great time since I joined in 2018. I lurked for a few years before but there is so much knowledge to pull from that I have improved my sharpening and honed my tastes more in the short time I have been contributing and watching these forums than all previous years combined.

Sorry, but my age, color, sexual preference, sexual orientation, race, income, where I live, trade and all the rest are things I have zero interest in being identified by.

I would much rather be identified by what I contribute. There is far to much made of the former in this world, and far too little of the later.

I honestly don’t know what you contribute.
