Hello!

Congratulations, Bruce! Took over the lead right from the start and never let go.

Also, congratulations to all the finalists! I for one really.enjoyed the diversity of knives and images! This has been one of the most enjoyable threads on bladeforums!

Last but not least, once again thanks to the initiators of this great thread!

Best regards,
Alex

Bruce -

A well deserved win, considering the stiff competition. Every element of your "Judge Roy Bean" Bowie was thoroughly calculated and executed to perfection. Winning this competion is indeed a "high compliment" to you and your craft.

Congratulations Bruce!!! Well deserved--what a spectacular piece all around.

And congratulations to the finalists, not a "second-place" blade in the running, IMHO--all winners.

Thanks again to Roger and Lorien and all who helped pull this thing together. This thread gets better and more entertaining every year, thanks in large part to your commitment and management.

Thanks very much gents. We extend the invitation, but if nobody shows, it's not much of a party. Everyone who participates makes this thread what it is. And it's a hoot and a half - thank you all!

Congratulations once again Bruce, not forgetting Jerre's engraving which added to this fantastic knife. Without doubt the most deserving knife won it. What a shame it was'nt the Gold Rush Bowie !!;)

Also a big thanks to Roger and Lorien and anyone else who was involved in putting this great show together!

Again glad I found this thread and site! Probably as good as it gets! Kudos to Mr. Bump and all others! Way to got!

Congratulations Bruce and all the other participants. A lot of great knives.
I'm proud to carry a Bump in my pocket every day.

Congrats, Bruce! Nice win in a tough field.

Always a joy to be able to participate in this annual classic.

after all these years, I find it somewhat shocking this annual event hasn't been covered in Blade mag. Personally, I think it would make a hell of a story.
Eh, Roger...?

Eh, Roger...?

I think thats a fantastic idea. Just shoot an email to Jim Shackleford (name spelling?)
Or write the story yourself and send it in. Remember the story about me and my nickel plated bowie parts? My friend and I sent that one in and they paid me $300 for it.

It's Steve Shackleford, Bruce. (unless he's got a brother in the business)

I think Roger should write it.

The journey of a thousand miles begins with a link and a note: Steve.Shackleford@fwmedia.com

(A roadblock may be that FW Media owns another forum: KnifeForums. We know how cross forum conversations can be troublesome. I hope not.)

I'd love to see.

I've heard mention of BF in their magazine before but if the article is well written as to not boost Bladeforums but instead an on-line virtual bowie competition. It would be good reading. They always welcome fresh material.
