BladeHQ Para 2 exclusive M4 w/ Jade G10

10 AM MST is 11 am central time correct?

10 AM MST is 11 AM Central Standard Time, but we are in Daylight Savings Time. I'm hoping that the retailer meant MDT which would be 11 AM Central Savings Time.

I agree. I can understand a user and a backup, but some may not even get one, while others just buy multiples to sell on the secondary.

And you can bet they will be for sale Friday for $300+ each.

Of course I'm traveling Thursday. So annoyed. Think they'll last north of 2 hours?

Maybe about 4 hours, and this will be partly because the retailer's website will be crashed for at least 2 hours.

Yup and I'll be 50 miles offshore with no phone or internet access. :( When is the BladeHQ Military exclusive M4 w/ Jade G10 going to become available?

These things seem to run 18+ months, unless they actually placed their order a long time ago and kept it a secret. I think a recent KW exclusive ran beyond 24 months.

I'll be right smack in the middle of a workshop when it goes live. I might have to take a bathroom break somewhere around then. On my phone, from that location - not much hope for me getting one. Guess it will save me a few hundred bucks - because if I don't get the knife, I won't have to buy scales for it.

Iv decided if I don't get one, a Fiddleback or Swamp Rat will be debuting in my collection. When I decided that, it didn't seem as bad if I don't get one ha

This. These short runs generally are all gone in minutes and it seems it's in great part due to people purchasing as many as they can for resell. Sucks for the rest of us.

unlike some of you guys, I'm interested in this knife for the handles, not the steel. Every steel in these PM2's is perfectly suitable for my needs. But those jade scales

o and I don't want to jinx myself, but I already ordered an str lowrider clip in blue jeans color for this guy!:D

^ I like the handles, too. Never tried the steel so that's a bonus.

How does M4 compare to S110V ?

The collector part of my personality says "must have its a PM2"

The practical side thinks "if it isn't better than S110V then just buy another blurple one"

And then the other voice says "how do you explain this to the wife"

So many competing people in my head

Who am I kidding I'll be trying to get one

This is my understanding.

Edge Retention: S110V
Ease of Sharpening: M4
Toughness: M4
Corrosion Resistance: S110v
Edge Stability: M4

Just two completely different types of steel.

Save yourself a lot of brain death and concern between the two steels.

If you want a steel that shares the best of the characteristics of both, then get a knife with S90V.

Then again, if it's just going to be collected and placed in a safe place, who really cares what steel it is.

It's when you use the knives and cut with them and work them hard, will then you'll know which steel you prefer.

M4 is awful and you definitely shouldn't even try to get one....

Unless of course I get one first, then M4 is great, mostly due to its toughness and edge stability. It is used for many competition cutting knives because of this, and if you are cutting materials with a lot of inclusions, that edge stability is nice to have.

Honestly I just like having knives with different knife steels

It's more of a which do I feel like carrying today

S30
S35vn
S110v
M4

It'd be great to add S90 or anything else as well or cruwear

And it fits into my long term plan

I buy knives when other ones get dull ish

Because my wife balks at the $300-$500 for wicked edge

But at some point she is going to tell me to buy knife sharpener instead of buying more knives

When my blurple one came in she asked "why get the same knife" I said the other one is dull ish and using a dull knife is when you cut yourself

To which she replied, well maybe the sharpener is a better long term buy if your going to keep buying ones when they get dull

Me thinks one more will push her over the "wicked edge" so to speak

My good sir, just make sure you have a replacement strategy in place for when she does go over that wicked edge. You won't be able to buy new knives because one is dull.

I'm sure you've prepared for that time, but one am never be too careful. Safety first!
