I made my first purchase from them this weekend, and this has not been my experience. Folks who buy from them, has this been the norm?

From BladeHQ's site-

"Same-Day Fulfillment
Blade HQ strives to get your order picked and packed the same day you order it. Because of our EPIC fulfillment expectations, our customers get their packages faster than our competitors."

I bought on 11/27, so today is day 5 and the item I bought has not shipped. I bought from them because it says Same Day Fulfillment. Next business day would also have been fine, but today is business day 4 and still nothing.
I'm new to high end knives. Is there a better place to buy from? (faster fulfillment).

Thanks!

I placed an order on the 25th and received the shipping notification yesterday (the 30th) after five days. Seems their fulfillment, "picked and packed the same day," does not equate to shipping; my several orders with them have been relatively slow to ship. They should probably remove the caps from EPIC. :)

Busy time of year and holiday closings -- likely most retailers are challenged to maintain pace.

I placed an order 2 weeks ago and it was shipped the same day. Got to Alaska 4 days after I bought it which is pretty phenomenal for getting things here. I purchased another item from another big knife site Friday and it was sent out the same day. I think the places get hammered at certain times of the year, but have been very happy with ordering.

If they weren't boasting/declaring how fast they ship, I wouldn't even be bothered by it taking 4 or 5 days. And yes the holidays are busy, but that happens every year on the same days, so it seems they could plan ahead.

I did get them to upgrade my shipping to 2-day because of the delays. And the order did just "ship" (label created) this afternoon so at least there's that.

No biggie. I was mostly just trying to understand if they normally do better, or if I should be buying from a different vendor. Thanks all!

Remember - label created does not mean shipped...it just means that they processed the label.
And no, they don't normally do better; it's a chronic problem.

I've made tons of purchases from Blade HQ over the years (and will continue to do so), BUT I have found them to be the slowest at shipping for a knife company, big or small. Not sure why they would brag about their speed of fulfillment...
Fake it, 'til you make it.

Remember when you had to go to the bank for a money order, fill out an order form, put said money order and order form in an envelope, hand write the address and return address, lick a stamp, put the stamp on the envelope, put it in a mailbox…. then waited 6-8 weeks for delivery… with no such thing as tracking to receive updates?

Good times.

One thing I do understand is: I don't always understand what is going on with a situation! In your case it could be a high end knife needed to be moved over from some place else or such. The most important thing is that you actually get it. The waiting is the hardest part.

I buy motorcycle parts, generally from 2 different places - one of them it seems when they get the order, someone full sprints back to the warehouse, packs it and I getting a shipping notice like a half hour after the order and I get it in hand in 2 days. The other not so much, but they have what I need and I just have to plan ahead accordingly.

Hang in there and let us know how it turns out.

My last purchase from BHQ was on 11/24. It shipped on 11/28 and I received it this morning. So, delivered in 8 days. Not bad but nothing to brag about either.

They also said in those ads "6-8 weeks for delivery", even if maybe small print. The issue is BHQ is they claim same day fulfillment.

Yeah, I get it. It was merely a general observation of how patient we used to have to be to receive luxury goods, or perhaps a commentary that we’re still really quite fortunate in that we receive things as fast as we do, even if that means days, considering the complexity of commerce now compared to then.

I once had an order from BHQ held for days without moving through the system.
I emailed customer service, and they told me if you add anything to the "special instructions" section of the order, it's held up until someone reads it.
Other than that, the typical turnaround time for me is about 5 or 6 days.

My least favorite vendor. I only order from them if there is literally no other option. They’re slow as molasses and make errors pretty regularly.

I ordered one of the donut knives for my ol lady on 11/25 and still nada.
