My old German Puma knives have a simple solution that you might try. Use a piece of paracord tied in a loop through the belt opening that allows you to pinch the loop and thread it through one of the Mule handle holes, then loop it back over the top of the handle. On the Puma’s it is leather, but paracord will work well. It is very easy to use for extra retention (not good for quick draw). Adjust the loop to be long enough to pass over the handle, but short enough to stay put.sorry to hear this and fortunately, the blade didn't hurt you.
BTW, that is the reason I haven't regularly bring the Mule with me for hiking, the factory sheath (Mule Team™ Leather Sheath (MTLSH)) cannot stable lock the knife inside, easy to slip off, though something has been added (sorry don't know how to call this parts)

so, though I love the Mule so much, but for safety reason and for the caring of the knife, I have to keep it in my kitchen.![]()

Today’s hike on the NCT at Moraine SP. Sunny day at 72deg. Only did 6miles as I was trying a new pair of hiking boots out. They are a keeper as my last pair has a little over a thousand miles on them.

We're definitely getting to the point of the year in some places where you can be a bit less concerned about dropping your knife into a snowbank.Hiked Mount Kearsarge in NH Saturday.
