Still way too much white stuff on the ground for fun hiking, if you go off the beaten path, you'll sink to at least the top of your shin, if not to your knee -

I got out yesterday for a 4 mile solo hike. White stuff mostly gone some frozen ground and a little mud!!
Dull dreary day but nice to be out!! We won’t see any green till about the middle of April if we are lucky!!

Got out for a short hike (more of a walk) of 2 or 3 miles today. Wandered on the flats along the Missouri River and got out on a sandbar for a while. Lots of geese out there, and I tried not to aggravate too many of them. It was a sunny day with temps near 60F, very warm for February here, but I was not feeling great today so didn't get too ambitious with my hiking.

Small Sebenza was along for the walk

The path I walked follows along some side channels of the river

Most of the sandbars looked pretty wet and muddy, but the one I walked on was dry.

We got out on this 60deg day!! Still some snow and ice on the trail BUT it was an awesome day!!
Franklin, Pa about 25 miles south of Titusville. Old oil country and ore mining area!!

Nice little hike today at Prince’s Point Wildlife Area. The second pic is where something fell through the ice. I’m baffled by what caused the weird ice in the 3rd pic. Last pic is my filthy beast with some geese and ducks in the air in the distance.

We usually start to see green about the middle of April.. By the end we should be good!! Usually my first grass cut is the middle of April.. Give or take..

We finally got rid of 95% of the snow and ice with 1.5" of rain on Monday - now mud season begins, but luckily it was only 24° this morning, so it was frozen and not messy
