Was another nice morning - 47°F:

We saw a couple deer (one with some little spikes) and I think he was on full alert the entire hike, barely wanted to chase pine cones or acorns:

Another good morning, went to a different spot, usually has lots of ticks... it still does :(

They will come up through snow here!!😡
They at first thought they would burrow down below the frozen surface but they didn’t!! 🤮
So we deal with them all year long!! 😒
They also will go up in trees and try to fall on you when you walk by.
John 😁

thanks John. good info. figures, year round everywhere pretty much, sounds like.

Yeah, its the same here in Maine.. active all year long, though, with the drought this year, there have been far less this time of year, less green things on the ground for them to hang out on - the pup still ended up with three (so far) from this mornings hike. He gets the Lyme vaccine and takes Brevecto, so he's good, and I also use permethrin treated clothing.

Another warm one today, was 55°F at the start and when we finished it was 61°F (again, odd for Maine this time of year - we're actually on a high/extreme fire watch today):

Luckily there were tons of pine cones for him to chase, so he was stoked:
