I think I'm in for a Basic 8. Which would actually make it my first Busse. I have had Bussekin before, we'll see if maybe I can snag one.

Ehh,it's obvious(resale prices,EBay,AZK) Busse is producing more knives than it sells,so they have to look at other advertising venues.
 
I have had it for many years and hate Facebook, busse is the last company I'd expect to jump on that BS. Make it a public Facebook thing so I don't have to login to it please Jerry!!! Stuff Facebook!!!!

Anyone who thinks fb will be responsible for more ganza sales plays with their privates waaay too much btw......

Best thing to happen to the CIA and FBI. People voluntarily and narcissistically telling you what they, their friends, family etc. Are interested in, eat, listen to, the list goes on. It's a voluntary invitation to zero privacy.
 
Really like to see some closer shots of the "Aged Bronze" finish. Thinking it looks great but not sure about the green edges and fasteners?
 
I'll toss in my .02 cents, NO Facebook !! Please ganzas are already tricky and tough enough. But to have to join FB ? I'd rather sit this out, just not for me. It's been mentioned the Busse FB page could be public so one doesn't have to join to view it ? If this could be done for ganzas I wouldn't mind as much. But when it stayed between the forums it just seemed to me like it gave a real community feel Hogs, Dogs, and Rats ? Not only who scored first but who got the go and then trickled it out to the other forums ? I haven't been a Hog all that long and still consider myself a newbie. Like I said just my .02's, I just would hate to see that strong Busse knife community feel lost, kinda still can't believe FB got the post first ????? I don't know just had to chime in

Not sure about your logic. Basic 'laws' of supply and demand says that prices will rise when supply is contrained. Since Busse resale prices on average are above original retail, that does not fit with the idea of Busse making more than they can sell. In addition, the retail prices on some models have been creeping up, again indicating a short supply and Busse able to command higher prices.

Now a couple years ago,you were correct..I can remember when Busse knives were nearly impossible to get,except for Lui Kangs incredibly high priced showcase collection.Ebay might have had 2 or 3 knives..Now,there is more available then ever.seems there is some sort of Ganzaa every few months.If you can cruise the classifieds,ebay,AZK etc and honestly say there is not a glut of Busse's out there...I think you are in denial.

Look at this Ganzaa for example,the sheer amount of knives available is insane.

I know a lot of people here have many thousands of dollars into these knives,and I understand why it must be hard to see Busse become less exclusive.

Look at Hinderer and what happened to the prices and availability of his knives since he ramped up production.

I guess I just like to have things that not everybody can get..when everybody is able to get them I don't like them as much.:)
 
Completely agree that there are more available than ever. The contrast between now and when I started here in 2006 is remarkable. Busse started to ramp up production in 2008 as Jerry was apparently able to invest more equipment.

Don't agree that it is a glut, as it would seem to me that Jerry can balance production to meet demand. The market has simply grown, and yes, it is less exclusive, but I'm not bothered by that nor in denial over it.

You can disagree but it's completely true. The only exception is currently produced knives. Obviously most models aren't currently produced and if you follow the sales, you will see that they sell for more than what the factory price was. If you don't see that, you aren't paying as much attention as you think you are.

Now yeah they produce more knives than before so the secondary market prices (Liu Kang excluded) have come down, but they are most definitely more than factory prices. I even see some currently produced models go for factory price sometimes because people don't want to wait the 2-3 months to get a knife.
 
Oh, CRAP! Probably a good thing I don't have credit card right now. Blade '13 and the MOAB put me over the edge. Still miss it and the 'Merica MOAB is soooo tempting.
